I read something that says if Earth loses oxygen for 5 seconds that buildings made of concrete turn to dust. So what happens to concrete in a vacuum?

Actually if the oxygen in the molecules of concrete dissapeared it would turn into dust, but with no oxygen in the atmosphere there would be no effect on it. Oxygen is essensial to bond molecules together, so with no oxygen the molecules would just fall apart.

Dry ice is made of carbon dioxide, so it isn't like ice/water. Carbon dioxide doesn't technically have a liquid form, so nothing would happen, except the normal sublimation (solid->gas) is just faster. Nothing special would happen.

it has no water in it. Mercury is just pure Hg. Also, at low temperatures it freezes into a solid metal.

@Jalyn Sanchez depends, if it is mercury nitrate, you are correct and you need strong gloves. But, with regular mercuray, make sure you don't have any cuts, and you should be fine to stick your hand in. Although, mercury can be dangerous and you should be cautious.

Not much would happen to them. If you don't touch a frozen LED strip, it'll glow just fine, maybe brighter, cause the colder a conductor is, the better it is at conducting electricity, but as soon as you were to touch it, it would break into pieces and not function anymore. That's it.

There would be a little, but since there's no air to propogate through, all the sounds would travel through solids until they reached the measuring point. With all the mass in a vacuum chamber, you might not end up with much vibration!

*Steam is likely best to reconstitute these kinds of things* -by using stem the bread reconstitutes as well and shouldn't get soggy either. Give that a try.

Asking for bacon on your cheeseburger at McD's tends to get you a much fresher burger because they can't just throw bacon on one that's been sitting out; if you ask for that, they have to make you a whole new burger. Which means you get one that has NOT been sitting on a warming rack for an hour and is much juicier. I don't think you'd get that effect for ordering a "Junior Bacon Cheeseburger" though--it's a standard menu item so they'll have a few on the trays. No, you want a fresh burger, ask them for a "cheeseburger with bacon".

Honestly i think that at Wendy's because they have so many items on the menu that have bacon on them that theres probably just some bacon sitting on some warming rack and that bacon trick wouldnt work. But that is smart if you go to McDonalds or burger king with that trick

I have an idea for an experiment to try, you know the vacuum chamber right well couldn't you try creating and vacuum but with water and no air present what would happen with different things inside the water in the vacuum?

What happens if you put bacon in the dehydrator or freeze dryer could you make your own bacon jerky? And what of you did the same with chicken, shrimp, fish, thin slices of beef, Turkey, sausage, crab and lobster?

That is not how UV light works. It wouldn't tell you much of anything. They could use some petri dishes, but I don't know if that would work for food? Or if King of random has the expertise needed to understand the results. But I think it would work to see what bacteria, yeast and mold is present. I think viruses is possiable aswell, but that's more complicated.

You should freeze dry such like shakes and blend it to a powder then rehydrate it to see if it makes instant shake or nestquick.
