This man made me proud to be a citizen of America. I was 18 and not able to vote for him but my parents did. At 78 I still love to hear his voice and his speeches are so stirring ❤️

Hear! Hear! No one else in high office has ever come as close to having the pulse of the nation in his hand, and in his heart, as President Kennedy.

Look at the decline of the dem party compared to when JFK was POTUS. Compare JFK to Harris. How far the dems have sunk. When JFK was murdered, the best part of our country and even the world perished on that day. Just think of the evilness in the hearts and minds of those who planned his execution. Neither the USA nor the world has been the same since that tragic day. A lot, if not most, of the goodness in our country took those bullets. Our once great thriving vibrant nation is now a mere shadow of what it once was. Cynicism rules.

What a President sounds like. A timely reminder of what we were, and what we can be with thoughtful, intelligent, and intentional leadership. Courage, judgement, integrity, and dedication...these are the historic qualities that have guided us before, and should guide us always.

That is very apt and very eloquent. Indeed,it is worthy of Kennedy himself.

WOW!!!! Steve, thank you for sharing. I am a 78 yo retired veteran of the US Navy, more so I am a veteran of: The United States of America. I cried today, listening to this speech, never having heard it before; for JFK, but more so for The United States of America, and we the people who strive to keep the flame lit. May its beacon of hope re-light brighter than it has ever shined. Thanks again for sharing Steve. William Casanova, Lt, US Navy (Ret)

Along with his Inaugural Address and his American University "peace speech", this Farewell Speech to the Massachusetts Legislature remains one of his greatest. Sadly we shall never see the like of him again. When columnist Mary McGrory commented to Patrick Moynihan shortly after the assassination "Patrick, we'll never laugh again". And Moynihan replied "oh we'll laugh again, but we'll never be young again."

Jack's father, Joe Kennedy, thought this was so good that he wondered how Jack could top it when he took his inaugural address a week later. Jack Kennedy said not to worry his inaugural address would not disappoint. It did not.

For those who do not know, Kennedy's father, Joe, saw this speech beforehand and urged Kennedy to save it for the inauguration because he thought it was that good. Kennedy reassured his father that he had something just as good for the inauguration.

A speech from a time when Americans, as one nation, were not too cynical or afraid of setting lofty goals with the objective of obtaining them. We need to decide that is what we wish to be again.

"Men of Courage, judegment,Integrity and dedication who serve the public good"; what happened to our country? Where are these men and women?Whether a "City on Hill" voiced by a Democrat or a Bright Shining City on the Hill" voiced by a Republican they were true patriots and were worthy leaders of all Americans. I pray that we see American pride, American civility and character come back to our great nation.

Interesting how JFK refers to the ship carrying John Winthrop twice. The Arabella. Wasn't that the name intended for his and Jackie's stillborn daughter in 1956?

Here is the gold standard and the template for what the US should expect and demand of their presidents. Start here again and maybe the current national nightmare can be avoided for ever more. JFK is a reminder that America has always been great, just too bad a would-be fascist con artist convinced so many people to doubt that fact back in 2016 and so many again, in 2020. Great nations deserve great leaders.

The current president, who's been in the DC swamp for about 50 years basking in corruption, is a con artist. Too bad the brainwashing by the media, who control the minds of the sheep, stayed in a trance listening to the mesmerizing 'flute'...GOD wins in the end though..
