"Repentance brings joy and change that brings us closer to Jesus Christ. The gift of repentance by the Savior's sacrifical performance of the Atonement gives us power over death and opens the doors of heavenly possibilities.
“God is not devoid of emotions. He looks after us with all the tender feeling of a loving parent. I imagine the joy He felt in knowing that [His Beloved Son] would eventually win a glorious triumph over sin and death-throwing open the doors of heavenly possibilities so that you and I could someday live again with our loved ones.
“But I also believe His joy was tempered by the perfect knowledge of what awaited His Beloved Son. … This same Son would suffer as none had ever, nor could ever, suffer.
“But because our Heavenly Father loves us so much, He allowed these joyful and painful events to take their proper course. Because the world needed saving, and because you and I need saving, He sent us a Savior.
“… Let us accept God’s perfect and precious gift. Let us cast our burdens and sins at the Savior’s feet and experience the joy that comes from repentance and change. I am nothing without the love of the Savior. I will always be grateful that He and Heavenly Father never give up on me and that Jesus Christ has rescued me in my darkest hours and shares in my joy. My Savior, redeemer and loving older brother❤

When I was suffering my worst bout of major depression, what made the difference in my upward trajectory was remembering that Jesus has, does, and will forever see something in us worth saving, even when we don’t see it in ourselves. He never gives up. I am forever grateful for His sacrifice.
