@@Ri5004 I could care less about Obama's skin color, but the really horrible thing that came from his election was the false belief that just anybody could be president...or Senator for that matter. We like to joke about it, but well seasoned, experienced, moderate-thinking politicians (from either party) are what is needed for a job like president. That is why former governors always make the best presidents (IMO).

I was at "Informatics in US Life" exibition. Felt th scence of Capitalizm! What amaized me in this video most of all is the correctness and pureness of the Soviet millitary orchestra in the US anthem performance. It was cannonic.

Kind of surprised Reagan didn't put his hand over his chest for our national anthem. Just because you are on foreign soil is no reason not to. Sadly his alzheimers was starting to become noticed to those close to him in his last year. Great man and great President, no doubt about that. Someone who commanded respect.

He didn't do it when Gorbachev came to the US either. It is not proper protocol to do so when hosting a foreign dignatery and vice versa. He did do it at home when he returned when no foreign leader was present.

Ronald Reagan is my favourite US president of all time and surely the greatest who I remember in my lifetime. I am happy to live my life in Reagan´s and Gorbatchev´s time. They tried hard to ease the tension between their two countries and first af all they broke the iron curtain between East and West! They are not alive now but I will never forget about them! Nobody can compare these two statesmen to the commen guys...

Gromyko was the Soviet head of state at this time. Technically he ranked above Gorbachev. So by diplomatic protocol he should receive Reagan. In the USSR the person with the legally highest office was not the most powerful person.

I remember when Reagan at the Berlin Wall said: "Mr. Gorbachev tear down this wall." He was a great president. By the way he said for the first time: "Let's make America great again." for his 1980 presidential campaign and not the notorious liar Trump.
