You, among many others don't understand the subject under discussion. There is nothing wrong with some tribal unity. The problem lies with the level of office of the person pushing for it. It would be equally distasteful for Ruto to use every other occasion to play a a leading role in the unity of Kalenjins. There are regional leaders to handle such petty matters. They lower the dignity expected of a national office. And Rigathi can hardly address any rally without launching into ethnic language in national media. He has lowered his office to the level of a Governor.

This country engages in some sick debates. Okay, what is the main cause of the rift between Ruto Gachagua? Oh, mara one man one one shilling, or is it about Kenya unity versus Mt. Kenya unity? Which is which? Nothing. This is a quarrel between two thieves which we should not be part of. But here we are. On the revenue sharing formula - so once you argue that we should have a one-man one-vote one-shilling sijui Kilometer, what do you do about it? What have Mt. Kenya MPs done about the issue? Any formal proposals brought to bunge from Gachagua’s office? Why does the media parrot inconsequential street quarrels? How do we call this a 'controversial revenue sharing formula’, when the discussion is about CDF and county allocations, which have never surpassed 10% of the budget over the last 12 years? If it is about county allocations, well, the majority of these funds are used in salaries, tea, and other recurrent expenditure. Very little on service delivery like health. What are people really arguing about? Why don't we discuss the 90% that remains in Nairobi? - the cause of this endless fight for the state. Do we have an independent press that can present the facts and shape national debate? Are there no people to present these facts - must the press tell us whatever nonsensical arguments presented by fools in political gatherings? Politicians who get notoriety are generally silly and it is painful when they litter our screens creating a mountain out of an inconsequential anthill. You will find heated street, radio, and TV debates over nothing. Painful. This country is ripe for a federation. Make the former provinces semi-autonomous government units and let people in each province elect their government. The national government can handle state duties like defense, currency, aviation, foreign policy and the rest of government duties undertaken by regional/provincial government. People are getting emotional over nothing. Let those thugs quarrel without dragging mwananchi. WAOL.
