Maude Ivory was able to remember a song, even if she heard it once. This trait also was shared with Katniss and her dad. This and the fact that he taught her this song, led many people to believe that Maude Ivory was her grandmother, making Lucy her great aunt.

@@deehasapples7646Plutarch knows the song also, doesn't he? Because when she sings "necklace of hope" he says that he changed it to be hope instead of "rope". We see that there was a Heavensbee during Lucy Gray's era, don't remember if he survived, but he didn't hear the song. Nor anyone, actually, I think only Snow did. I find that interesting. How would Plutarch know. Because I don't think it's a plot hole.

That's the point. Also the reason Snow lost. Everyone heard a song of revolution and hope. Snow could've easily shattered that illusion and dominate the folks. Except... It wasn't an illusion. He heard it too. 🙂 But a different song. "They say he murdered three." It wasn't Katniss that set the Panem free. It was the truth.

You gave up everything for her. And she might have been trying to get you hung. So you try and shoot her. You don't know if it worked. You get back to the Capitol and recive the fortune of the friend you killed. You get rid of everyone who wronged you, including your cousin, to become president. You have control for sixty years. And then a girl named Katniss cheats in the games. Survives. Becomes a beacon of hope for LG's people and using the offspring of the thing that took LG from you as her symbol. And she sings your song. Katniss the Mockingjay, who sings The Hanging Tree. Who eventually topples everything you've worked for and you succumb to the welts in your body from the people you've poisoned. Suzanne is so utterly amazing for making it possible to empathize with every character in her series.

Imagine right before snow was executed, he saw a familiar woman in the crowd. It was the ghost of Lucy gray. She was wearing her rainbow ruffle dress, strumming her guitar, and singing the hanging tree. When she stopped singing, she stood in front of him, as everyone ran to kill him. She faded in the crowd with the people. It would forever haunt him. Just a theory, it would give me chills fr 😭

The most ironic thing in all of hunger games is this song being written and then the exact events actually happen to Snow and Lucy Grey. I think it would have been better if Lucy wrote that song *after* those events with Snow, cause then seeing snows reaction to the song later in the main movies would have been 10 times better realizing the song was about him

The song is not about him actually .... It's about the guy they hang because he was accused of killing 3 people (his wife shouts "he's innoncent" in the crowd and she also get death sentenced, but the husband tells her to flee (like in the song)) So to me it's just a nice foreshadowing about Snow's story later on (even though to me he killed more than 3 people but anyway)

In the book that is exactly what happened. Lucy Gray wrote it after the hanging to recount the event. Apparently her and Billy Toup would meet at that tree so the song had dual meaning

To be honest at first i didnt love katniss singing the song because even if its for the rebelion to me it made no sense, hanging could refer to kills bit also suicide its like something was missing yet haunting. When Lucy sang the song it all tied together and made sense. Both songs have their own twist and tune. Lucy was out of love, longing, betrayal, her own.

Meh i maean i think Lucy was nicer and more morally right than Katniss. She didn't want innocent people to die. She was just surviving from the people who were killing her. She fell in love with a guy who in the end turned out to be a bad guy who had gotten runed by the people around him in the capital. She was visibility upset whenever someone died. And at the end she realized that as much as she loved Snow she couldn't stop him from the person he became. Whi killed his best friend. And she ran.

Maude ivory is Katniss grandmother ! She knew about snow and Lucy and heard the song. Maude grew up had a baby (katniss mom or dad) and that child grew up, had katniss , raised her on the songs and stories . It lines up with the timeline

It’s a pity he probably never heard it sung by Katniss. If he did, it would surely have elicited a reaction, even a private one, because he “never lets you see him bleed.” Maybe he saw something of Lucy’s spirit in Katniss early on, which is why he initially tried to get her to cooperate and be on his side. He should’ve known better. The past has a way of coming back to haunt a man, even if everyone else involved is dead. It’s probably a disease of the corrupted mind. But it also unintentionally has a sort of spirit of justice behind it. You can’t get away forever with abusing and murdering people. Even if looks like from an outside perspective that you are getting away, from an inside perspective there is a certain torture that comes, not usually from a guilty conscience, but from seeing the thing you abused, tortured and killed for die anyways. A system crumbling like a cookie. The more you try to hold it together, the more compromised it becomes.

I have no doubt in my mind that Snow's fascination with, and contempt for Katniss stemmed from Lucy. Katniss, appearance-wise, personality-wise and action-wise, is pretty close to her. His actions towards her show she had to have sparked whatever remaining affections and feelings of betrayal he had in his heart for Lucy, and brought his memories of her to the surface. It's also why he was quite.....merciless to her.....He showed mercy and compassion to Lucy and was paid back, be it understandably due to his nature, rather poorly......He likely learned his lesson......

He planned to kill her......The girl he once risked his neck for, and, as a result, wound up being shipped off as a peacekeeper. By the time his stay in District Twelve was over, his mind had become so corrupted, there was no future for the two.....By that point, he was dead-set on killing her because, right or wrong, he viewed her as a threat to him because she came to see him for what he truly was. And, in fleeing, he ironically saw it as one, final act of betrayal on her part, even though he already had it in his mind to kill her......The ultimate act of betrayal!

It goes to show (in regards to my "The ultimate act of betrayal" line) that those who are most, if not ENTIRELY responsible for something are quickest to blame someone innocent to assuage their guilt. *Snow* was responsible. *Snow* was the one who intended to betray Lucy, and *Snow* was the one who tried to cover his guilt by passing the blame to her when she did *nothing* at all!

I dont think Katness is related to Lucy Grey herself, Lucy wnet into the woods and probably died. Katness is probably related to one of the band memebers. And thats how she knows the songs. Because that song isn't about Snow, she based it on the events that happened earlier, they were in the town's square and a man is suppossedly wrongfully accused of murder (as his wife keeps shouting "he is innocent! He didn't do it!") so they hang him, Sejanus wanted to intervene but Coryo doesn't let him, and they watch as the man tells his wife to run away with their children before getting killed

How do you make these video/clips. Is there a website or something. Do you download the episode then cut out the clips you want to post? I want to do the same for this film and many other but dont know how.🩵🔥

What I usually do is find a piece of music I like and then take clips from films and sync it to that! iMovie is a great starter tool to put things like this together, and it is also what is till use!
