1) You have to prep your nails per the box instructions of the press on nails. 2) When applying the nails, press on for a mininum of 30 seconds. 3) *MOST IMPORTANT:* The glued on nails - the glue - needs to "cure" for a minimum of 3 hours. That means DO NOT touch water for 3 hours. Bathe, eat, do chores BEFORE you apply the press ons. I've watched several videos & many commenters say they wait until bedtime to apply the nails, then they go to bed & the nail glue have a chance to cure for longer than 3 hours.

@@Hastxi-zh9rv basically when they say cure its more like dry fully. You just need to let them be and not do anything that would push them around, or take the glue off. nothing can really speed this up, you need to just let them be.

Ive learned if you file the top of the nail first and trim them closer to the length of your natural nail there’s less product to dissolve so it works a lot quicker. This can help with breaking the seal too. And I tend to use acetone and warm water (separate containers with my nails directly in the acetone and the acetone container in warm water). I do this for gels though so I’m not sure how that would work with regular press ons

That’s how I take off my gels too! But someone on Instagram just commented that too and they said that’s how they remove their press ons so I’m gonna def try this next time

Yesss removing my press ons hurt so bad but I try and preserve them cause I want to re-use them later 😂 I'm cheap

I thought the whole purpose of press-ons was the re-usability?😭 I never tried them but I ordered some just for this purpose, why are some comments saying to cut them off? 😅

@@JingYuans_sparrow I feel like most ppl just get the really cheap ones in standard sizes so they don't care as much + it's quicker to cut and dissolve them in acetone than take the time to remove them gently without damage, but if you're getting them custom from an independent seller then it makes sense to reuse them :)

@Julia_me0 I don't know for sure if every brand does this but the one I like to use best uses a bit of acrylic acid in the adhesive. I'm pretty sure you can find some out there that don't, but for me press ons are much less damaging to my nails even with the acrylic acid :)

This was basically an update showing how prep made them last 2 weeks! My press one have only ever lasted like 1-2 days so this definitely worked!

U were my sign to try gel x and I love them but I also have neuro disorder and sometimes my hands struggle to do them so now am taking this as my sign from you again to use pink gel and do press ons until my flare up is over!

BTArtbox has pre-colored and French gelX tips! I have severe RA and when I’m flaring I slap those on instead of doing the whole process and it’s so much easier. I hope your flare ends soon friend

Trim the length, file the shine off, soak in acetone, buff the access off. I use a steamer. Also cotton ball and foil wraps place hand under a heating pad or apply heat some safe way. Do one hand at a time because soon as air hits it will harden again. I only see oil and water working if you didn't prep them to last.

It takes about 1 hour to get the nails off with acetone. In the salon I worked in a nail salon and we had to tell the clients who wanted to remove acrylic nails one hour in advance of your appointed. This would be to get Light Concept nails. Now they must be making them them better than years ago. If you have soft nails, be careful if you have soft nails. If you force the press on nails you can lift off the top layer of your natural nail. If you can remove them with oil, hot water and dish soap, is much less abrasive than acetone. My sculpture always had lift and snapped by 3 weeks. Eventally a nail and it was paper thin. I was close to having no nail, so I stopped. Press on nails kept falling off that evening at a holiday party. I had to carry 3 second glue in my bag. Where do you get the nails and the pink gel glue. Halloween definitely.

If your press ons don’t last long your either using the wrong glue or you maybe moisturise your hands with something very oily like Vaseline too often so you have oily nail beds both have solutions

For any set of nails, whether they're gel, acrylic, dip powder, polygel, regular polish, or press ons - the prep is the most important part. If you do proper prep, you can get your nails to last foreverrrrr.

I tried press on nails for the first time and the first day I got frustrated with the length. Cut them shorter, but the third day I just had to get them off. I don't know why it bothered me so much but they looked great for a bit. I tried both methods to get them off. Ended up damaging my actual nails. Maybe I'll try again in the future but yeah 😅

Hold on they swill last two weeks if your not washing your had constantly or washing dishes. You can wear gloves but still be mindful and when doing your hair. Also when you first apply them don’t do anything for 8-9 hours just fyi it gives the glue to time to settle and it’s stronger

I always put a little bit of glue on nail so it can just last a week and I do the oil and dish soap and they come off but you have to crack it on top a little opening so like you said can go in the oil

Wore press ons for 2 weeks, had to reglue multiple nails, one of the nails that never popped off somehow had fungus under it, it's been over a month and my nail still had a small yellow spot. I need a good way to take them off though because I'm in martial arts classes and can't have them but want them for certain events coming up 😢

100% can reuse your press ons! That's why I shy away from using acetone when removing mine. :)
