I raised a Morgan type filly who was still nursing. I used a coke bottle and calf manna. When she was about a year old I borrowed a horse trailer and parked it in the yard. She had never seen a horse trailer and I thought she needed the experience. She was loose in the yard. I started up the ramp with a bit of grain to put it in the trailer and she saw me with the grain. When I started up the ramp I heard clop clop behind me as she came right up after me. She ate the grain, sniffed everything in the trailer ,stuck her head out the window and looked around and then followed me back down the ramp. I never did use the lead rope. She thouroughly enjoyed the adventure.

I have been training with natural horsemanship for 15 years and it is ALL about feel. It is interesting how behind in actual horsemanship people seem to be in the UK. In my area in Canada and also in the US, this sort of approach is common place.

This looks like an excellent example of the difference between the Master’s discourse, and the Analyst’s Discourse that Lacan has identified. Here, Michael Peace is putting it into action but, nevertheless, I would say that it is a structure of discourse that is in play. I’m really interested your work, Michael.

And that's how I taught my horses to load. I had no problems. You have to remember her roses are stronger than humans but what we ask is the horse to think about being in a partnership

Thank you. I love a 'voice of reason' in the horseworld and I feel sure the horses do too. You're more polite than I am Mr. Peace. I noted your hand in the air making 'air quotes' around 'natural horsemanship' (and its' rampant 'pressure and release' doctrine)...let's just say my hand in the air on these topics is more vulgar and emphatic than your sweet 'air quotes'...JF🥰
