JUST AN AFTER THOUGHT. MY MOTHER BOUGHT A PRESSURE CANNER IN THE EARLY 50'S. SHE WASN'T ONE FOR READING INSTRUCTIONS. WHEN IT BLEW . THE WALLS , FLOORS, CEILING, STOVE,AND ANYTHING ELSE IN THE KITCHEN WAS DECORATED WITH THAT DAYS SUPPER.THE CANNER WAS NEV ER USED AGAIN. THEY SAY THAT MEMORIES ARE THE ALBUMS TO YESTERDAYS TREASURES. I AM 85 I REMEMBER IT LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY..I HAD TO HELP CLEAN IT UP HA HA

The pressure canners were just as safe as they are today. The problems was the people operating them at the time were so stupid they were not aware of their own actions hence why all of you had to help clean up their problems...it's only today now with technology you can't get away with any bs or you are held accountable, back then people were disgusting and had no morals or core values

As I'm sitting here in my little apartment, waiting for my new pressure canner to be delivered, I started searching tutorials on how to do it properly. I cannot overstate how happy I am to have found this lady and her EXCELLENT videos!!! I have subscribed, and I'm sure that I'll be back often for further info as my knowledge grows. All I had to rely on was my mother, when I was a kid, canning at the end of every summer after harvesting from our garden. Thank you, a million times over!! (Oh, and wish me luck-at 69 yrs old, this is my 1st attempt at canning!) Plus, I have an electric stove!!!

Thank you so much for making this excellent, easy to understand video! I've done water bath canning for a year now, and my husband just surprised me two days ago by telling me to buy the pressure canner that I have been wanting, but after bringing it home, I was nervous about using it because I didn't know what to expect, and I don't have anyone to teach me (I learned water bath canning on my own as well). I've saved this video so I can watch it again, because I've got some carrots and beans from my garden that I want to preserve for the winter. You are an excellent teacher, and should give yourself a pat on the back for making such a great video!

Great info!! None of my favorite recipes have "canning/processing times'' to them. How do I know how long to process them for? Where can I get "times" for salsa, already cooked beef stew, etc. Do I just follow the times for any salsa, or any beef stew recipe?
@PrepperPotpourri
@PrepperPotpourri 5 жыл бұрын
It is not recommended to can your own recipes. That being said, I do. I process for the time that would be recommended for canning the meat or fish contained in the recipe by itself. In the case of beef stew, 75 minutes for pints and 90 minutes for quarts. I do not believe that pre-cooked salsa will change the processing time
