Gerry I have 8 broken power washers I was going to weigh them into St Margaret's tomorrow, but now I will try fix some of them, most of our power washers got frost damaged, now I know to run them dry during frosty weather, thanks bud

Gerry, I do commercial pressure washer repairs at work, both petrol and electric. There's always a need to keep after these. One reason the one washer has a split pump is that it may have frozen with water in it. If you can drain the hoses out, and blow the water from the pump, it's a good shot at longevity for it. By the way, the coating on wire cutters and the like is not electrical insulation, but rather merely a comfort grip, and, when it comes to high end tools, is a means of identification. I wish you continued success in your endeavors.

I've rebuilt a few of these electric ones, usually more trouble than they're worth but still a fair bit cheaper than replacement. The seals on/behind the swash plate or the pistons normally heat up and fail over time due to cheap factory grease getting washed out. The o-rings are cheap as chips, but other than replacing the crap that comes standard with silicone grease, and running residual pressure through them when the pump is off, a rebuild once a year or so has been my norm.

Hi Gerry, It's a pretty common issue with pressure washers where they are put away for the winter and there is still water in the pump. The water freezes and the pump cracks. Glad you were able to make a good one from the parts. For the plastic clips, you might be able to find a suitable clip on Amazon. They sell assortments made for replacing broken clips from car interior panels. Sometimes the physical size of the clip is included in the ad and you could look for some that are close enough. I thought Europe was 240v 50 hz power? Why do you need a neutral with 240?
