In this video, I pressure wash a massive tarmac driveway. I talk about some of the main problems when it comes to pressure washing tarmac and how to resolve them.
I also spot clean some very greasy spots on block pathing and clean a decking made with plastic decking boards.

I have 2 hoses. One 10m and one 20m. I’ve fitted them with quick connect fittings. They are nothing special. Just what came with the pressure washer

Learnt a lot from this, brilliant. Do you get on ok with 21lpm using a 140litre bin? Also do you have any trouble with the return pipe being next to intake pipe? Cheers

Work out what you want to earn pre meter then measure it up and times it by the price pre meter. What Smouts Pressure Washing live video on a Monday night. He often goes through pricing a job during it

The washer is about 200bar I turned the revs down to about 2/3 and kept the FSC moving. There were no lines left

Using the right chemicals you can definitely improve them if not remove them all together

Thanks for this video, I have a large tarmac area and looking to buy a Whirlaway, wondering if a Stihl RE150 plus should be up to the job? Did you just connect a ball valve to the end of the hose when washing down? Is there any risk of damage using the whirlaway? Thanks

If you go in straight lines rather then figure of eights when using the whirl away it will show up when it dries but it shouldn't cause any damage as long as the tarmac is in good condition. The Stihl pressure washer only works at around 10 litres a minute. With that flow you would only be able to drive a 9" whirlaway. I used a ball valve on this job but now I'm using a 40 degree fan nozzle for washing down tarmac.

@@squeakycleandave1 Thank you for the detailed reply Dave, I will reconsider either the Whirlaway or the Stihl, I was hoping to keep the size down and stick with electric for convenience and the yard is large so a 9" surface cleaner would be hard work. Food for thought. :)

How many times do you need to stop to let the buffer bin catch up and for how long? Great videos btw 👍

It’s been a while since I did that job but from memory I think that I didn’t have to stop at all on that job

@@squeakycleandave1 ah ok so that buffer tank Will basically keep you going at the flow rate you were using plus obviously having the constant house supply flowing in 👍

Hi Dave, would you wash down with a white or black tip? It always takes me forever to wash down, I get lost in the dirt sometimes 😬

I think I used 25° on this job but now knowing more I would have used 40°

Thanks Dave. I've got my first Tarmac cleaning job on next week. I've got 40° and 65° nozzles. Would you recommend the 40s over the 65s?. I was going to clean then treat with a biocide after as its quite mossy.
