I completely agree and do habitually call out those folks in a kind way that start a line of reasoning that they do not believe themselves. Presuppositionist arguments are logically unsound, so I would recommend not using them.

keystothebox - Romans 1 is clear that the unbeliever rejects clear evidence. Presenting more and more evidence just gets more suppression of the truth. Presupp first recognizes the supremacy of God. Evidentialism presumes there is a neutral ground between belief and unbelief. But, there is no neutral ground. Glad you came to Christ. What evidence convinced to come to Christ?

1 Cor 15 not apostolic apologetic? Williams does much to edify and build up the evangelical church and doesn't deserve snarky presuppositionalist critique. God used evidential apologetics in my conversion to evangelical faith after getting my brains rattled in college. I do appreciate presuppositionalist strategy as well.

But again, this shows you do not understand what evidential or presuppositional apologetics are. Notice James White is correct that Williams never once explained what presuppositional apologetics is. It's not just "a strategy" - it's an apologetic methodology based on a theology. Take the time to understand what both sides are saying. We all have respect for Williams and his work and we all thank God for your conversion. Those aren't the issues. Watch the video again and take the time to understand.

9:45 That is absolutely not true. Suffice it to say and point out the many people that have been converted through evidentialist arguments. The Holy Spirit is capable of moving a person to a point where the darkness of the mind is dissipated into a receiving state - which at this point the person is still in a lost state. James argues that all that the lost man can do is 'suppress' evidence (cough* total depravity *cough); which is not true. The lost person can either accept or reject the divine truth - this is a pure logical and experiential axiom in Christian conversion testimonies; but his Calvinist theology won't allow him to acknowledge it. Besides, contrary to his claim that the Apostles didn’t rely in evidentialism (10:35), St. Paul did hint that he adapted his preaching of the Gospel to adjust to his Greco-Roman audience (vastly proven by the many quotations from pagan philosophers he presents throughout Scripture): 𝘛𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘰 𝘰𝘯𝘦, 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘢 𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦, 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘢𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦. 𝘛𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘑𝘦𝘸𝘴 𝘐 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘑𝘦𝘸, 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘑𝘦𝘸𝘴. 𝘛𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘸 𝘐 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘸 (𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘐 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘢𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘸), 𝘴𝘰 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘸. 𝙏𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙖𝙬 𝙄 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙖𝙬 (𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘎𝘰𝘥'𝘴 𝘭𝘢𝘸 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘮 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵'𝘴 𝘭𝘢𝘸), 𝙨𝙤 𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙖𝙬. 𝘛𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘬 𝘐 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘬, 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘬. 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝙨𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙗𝙮 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝙄 𝙢𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙨𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚. (1 Cor 9:19-22) Evidentialism is proven to be ‘a possible mean’, and like St. Paul, and if it works, we need to resort to all possible means as apologists.
