@@omarcogle1965 I actually watched the entire redub (available on Hulu) with my boyfriend and he loved it. He never watched because while he was young when it was on (two years older than me) he had two older brothers who would have mercilessly made fun of him… it was great to watch and even better seeing the much more accurate dub! No more cousins! We get full on lesbians and many other fun stuff haha. After finishing we started Crystal and despite the hate on the first season or two, we LOVED it! The story is MUUUCH faster but has more details never included in the original. We did miss the characterization though. Season three and the season four two part movie definitely brought back the characters we love and a much better art style since a lead artist from the original anime returned.

people paid for that performance but they were worse than amateur singers. if they were not professional misical actors, yes, i would say they are not that bad (but also definitely not good)

This is just an incredibly amateurish and unprofessional performance, and it shouldn't be advertised as professional. Go watch Sera Myu and you'll see the actors dancing and singing simultaneously all the time (and sometimes mixing fighting in the dancing), and they sound great from beginning to end. THAT's hardcore, not this stuff.

​@@elenadl906 I was referring to the whole show. This is technically a part of Sera Myu too anyway, obviously I've watched all the other musicals. Also I mean, they're moving pretty much throughout the entire thing, the casting of this show is to blame, they seeked out a mix of singers and dancers (i don't believe many had even done theatre before, I think a few were even J-pop idols?) and then it appears they seem to have thought they could be able to just teach each other the others' skill during rehearsal from scratch

I went to the live show in New York, and they sounded so good. This video really really does not reflect how good they were. This looks like it was the media preview/ sound system testing day. They had just flown in from Japan and were pretty exhausted from the trip.

Broadway Ensembles and competitive Show Choirs would give them a run for their money. At a bare minimum if they struggled this much, they should have been kind enough to help them out with a booth ensemble back-stage helping to hold the song together (4 to 8 singers that sing into microphones off-stage). They do this for the musical Cats, though that's because the dancing is Cats is MUCH more difficult, as they do tap-dance, ballet, leaps, passe turns/spins, tumbles, lifts, and even cartwheels in some sections! The choreography here shouldn't be too difficult for a physically fit, well trained singer to manage.

It can be done. If you have the talent and practice a ton, you can get good at singing while dancing. I used to practice singing while jogging in place or doing choreography for 2-4 hours a day to get in shape for my job performing dance music 4 hours a night. If I sounded like the people in this video, I would have been fired on the spot.

No. It isn't. And yet, thousands manage it on and off Broadway every single year, and that's before you get into the amateur productions. It's not easy, but even with as difficult as it is, you'd think Venus would be less incredibly flat for her very first singing line.

@@AndaraBledin No but the thing is, in Broadway SINGING is given more of an emphasis. This show has a more emphasis on DANCE. The story is told through dance with very little dialogue and a FEW songs.

Yeah I'm pretty confused, it looks like a relatively big performance and they're clearly not singers. I got so excited when I saw "Sailor Moon musical," would have been mad to spend money on this.
