Hello. With the smaller engine and the need for higher RPM a 32:1 is what you should go for. There should be very little if any discharge from the exhaust since the high RPM will burn it all up first.

I just bought a 78 and it runs start but bogs out when I hit gas to quick and also had oil discharging from muffler so I want to know cause I'm try to run it and try to keep it going to spit out the oil since I think old owner might have mix to much he said he put more cause it a rebuild rebuild so everything get lubricated properly inside but it think it was to much also u know anything on how to adjust the carb to keep it to stay idle low in natural does wanna stay on with out me give her gas even with choke on it wont
