Imagine doing this in south Mississippi. Pop up tents only work well if the sun is at the right position. Down here I’m soaked in sweat within 15 minutes. I try and work as early as possible but being a mobile mechanic you take what you can get. It’s a hard job not being inside a shop with a fan. I have all the respect in the world for this guy because I live it everyday.

Nice work🤙especially in that sun, you can get stainless steel cable ties that are good for the rack boots , when changing inner and outer tie rods it’s easier to measure the total length from rack to joint as some pattern parts are different lengths so counting turns is no good
@QualityMobileAutomotive
@QualityMobileAutomotive Ай бұрын

High end dealers and mechanic shops charge outrageous amounts of of hard earned money to perform basic repairs. The shop I was taking my 2011 Land Rover HSC 5.0 to, was getting $147.00 dollars per hour, and it wasn't even a Land Rover dealer. I now have a 1990 Dodge D150 two wheel drive truck, and do most of the maintenance myself, and what I can't do I have my in town mechanics work on my truck for far less money than anyone else around me. I like your attitude and the way you talk to your customers. Treat people right, and you have repeat customers ever time, plus word of mouth recommendations of your work from your customers, generates a volume business. Well, as far as the special tools go, in most instances you can do without them by using a more basic method (such as the pipe wrench here), but sometimes you have to have the right tools. When I was doing the inner tie rods on my Focus, the pipe wrench just wouldn’t fit. There was just no room to get it to latch on, let alone turning it. So, as painstaking as it was to use the special tool, I had to do it that way.

I like slip on shoes and I did like the Merrils. But the side wore out of one of them fairly quickly. Now, believe it or not, Hey Dudes have replaced them. I do like them.

I've had several pairs of hey dudes, and they don't last any time at all with me. The last pair I had wore completely through the sole in about 40 days. I'm not hard on shoes; I have sneakers that are 3 years old and are fine. Saw some Hey Dude-style shoes at Walmart for 20 bucks, bought a pair, and they are just as comfortable and outlast hey dudes by a long way. Just a thought.

Used 550 cord in all your work shoes or boots. Won’t break and oil resistant. It’s parachute cord . Even Wallmart sells it in camping section

100% what I was about to say. Regardless of the brand of shoes or boots, relace them with 550 paracord. Make sure you get the USA made 550. You'll never have a lace break again.

Try Red Wing Shoes. Also try a pair of leather laces they should last a long, long time.

every RedWing pair of work boots I ever bought came with full lifetime free leather cleaning and conditioning and shoe lace replacement whenever needed. Just have to ask for that service at the register and get your boots registered in your name with a RedWing account and you are set.

had mobile mech replace ac compressor on wifes honda, he pulled out his foldup tent, i put a shop fan out there blowing on him, pumping full of water here in houston tx temps are crazy, great videos i subscribed. So how is your income being mobile versus dealership? Hope it is better.
@QualityMobileAutomotive
@QualityMobileAutomotive 10 күн бұрын
Thank you! The income difference was significant until about 3 weeks ago. I starting getting crazy busy and I’m starting to make as much as I was at the dealer if not a little bit more. I am finding that I am limited to the number of cars I can do in a day which is limiting the amount the company is making. I’m looking to hire someone to run my second service truck to start making the company more so we can get a shop soon.

I wear timberland pros they aren't light but I have wore them for years for $150 boot I think it's about the best in my opinion. They aren't Redwings or some fancy comfy boot but they also aren't $500 and they last about a year and a half 2 years daily work mechanic labor etc etc.
