Stereo Version. Enjoy. I used a Sony TC-WR790 Tape Deck Via Line output.

Back then there were (if not MOST of them) a lot more independant cable companies, now there are like 5-6 Giant near monopolistic ones, at least in the US.

WOW. This sounds better than the version I recorded to cassette tape waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyy back when Prevue Guide was on, and one day it broke down and I was able to record straight from the TV.

You had a pretty good vcr back then, by the sounds of this. All the other recordings of this channel from the time have been in mono. Hell, the treble is surprisingly nice.

Even with the, what I like to call, "acid" sound behind the music, it sounds alot better than my cassette tape recording from about 20 years ago.

Love the reverb on this

I think this music is for ERA 2, specifically from 88-93, when it was prevue guide before the new formatting in 93, Era one was when it was called (according to wiki anyway) 81-88 electronic program guide, no original music, just music from a local radio station.

I once heard this with the WLVI test pattern (target pattern, 1960s)
@eliaveloso1869 Жыл бұрын
I can tell your from Boston since your mentioned WLVI.I’m from the Nashua area and grew up watching WLVI 56 as a kid in the 90s.So you must have watched the WLVI test pattern during the late 1980s-early 1990s and they were still using the test pattern from the 1960s.

***** Do you find TVGN is having a hard time competing with cable systems that have their own built in channel/show/program guides? Both Charter and FIOS that we've had have them, guess it serves older/more remote cable systems.
@MrVCidade10 жыл бұрын
Yes we do, there's very hard services out trying to create their own EPG channels on Cable. TVGN isn't the same anymore when we (on the Gemstar/TV Guide[Prevue] days) accidentally sold everything to Rovi Corp. and CBS. We miss the days we were the owners of the channel. The PrevueCom Team (Prevue Networks' part)

I don't know why I like watching the old prevue guide, I like music and it's kind of symbolic of a good time in my life, there are some other preferences I can't explain, like I asked for my drink once in a plastic "glass" instead of a glass glass, but I see I'm not the only one. Is it possible the software still exists and you could make an emulator of prevue guide- you own one, basically- for yourself- to your preferences. Not to show you channels, but just to play around/experiment with
@MrVCidade10 жыл бұрын
thesnare100 Yes the software still exists and is avalable for download from the Prevue Forums at ariweinstein.com/prevue . You will need WinUAE (Amiga/Prevue Emulator) to emulate this.

to my knowledge, PG used 3 audio channels: Left promo, right promo, and this music on loop.
