KEY TERMS IN THIS VIDEO: 1.The effect of related goods: The increase or decrease of a related good's price is inversely proportional to a similar goods's price. If you don't yet understand, let me give you an example. If I sell mechanical pencils at PaperMate, an increase in the cost of BiC mechanical pencils will shift demands to my business. Yay, my business will make more money!

If price changes, you're moving _along_ the curve. The curve only shifts if *_demand_* changes _relative to price._ i.e. more wanting/trying to buy/buy more at the _same_ price(s).

'Wealth redistribution,' and govt benefits/subsidization), for example, shifts the demand curve to the right (increases demand), which then brings the ME rate to a higher point on the supply curve as well (higher prices) -- also sliding up _along_ the supply curve.

virendrasingh when the price of substitute products increases while the main product holds then the demand will increase. That's why the curve shift to right.

virendrasingh I hope I'm not too late. It shifts to the right because more people would want to buy it. The people would most likely choose yours because other products are more expensive. Now, why right? Shifting it right means that more people would want it. As you could see in the graph, if the price of the ebook is $2, then 60k people would want it. But since the buyers have seen that other products are more expensive, more people would choose that ebook. Now, as you see, the more it goes right, the more buyers there are. So that means that it would be more than 60k which is more right. Now you can also Apple that to all parts of the curve. The one on $4 also shifts right, for example. I hope that answered your question :)

Substitute Goods P(x) goes up, Q(y) goes up & P(x) goes down, Q(y) goes down. Complementary Goods P(x) goes up, Q(y) goes down & P(x) goes down , Q(y) goes up.

Oh my god! Can you make a video without repeating yourself a thousand times! Use video editing to speed your drawing up so you just narrate over that. And if you did that, the lessons would be shorter and we, as students, would be better able to allocate our time. I swear these 5, 8, 12 minute videos shouldn't be taking this long, and most of it is you repeating yourself, not sentences at a time. Words. "Quantity, quantity, quantity, and demanded, demanded, demanded, (as you finish writing it) Quantity demanded" I hate to be mean, but somebody has to point this stuff out.
