Maybe that was intentionally to provoke an attack. He knows he has the longer range and can score when the other steps forward.

In kickboxing, you keep your hands in between the head and the body (at least I do) because unlike boxing, you have to defend against kicks and knees. Your guard needs to be a lot more loose and ready to block wherever the attack is going.

@@salemmattaniah11 high oz gloves means very heavy hands due to the actual weight of it, that means the actual punching is slower in kickboxing i think they use it because the gloves need to absorb the hit form the kicks that transport much energy, fighting with high oz like 20-30 means that u need to train with even more high oz gloves, is overall more difficult with them, sorry for the bad explanation feel free to ask i practice the sport but I am not English I can't really explain my self very well
