Man Dwades Prime was cut short took to many unnecessary falls going all the way back to his days at Marquette! I remember my dad telling me when we were watching the 06’ playoffs he was the closest thing to a young Jordan even more than Kobe ever was because of Dwades measurables, Super explosive first step as he could beat anyone off the dribble a great penetrator & an uncanny ability to finish over much larger men. jumping ability off BOTH legs Dwade was 6’4 on a good day a truly special athlete for that size and he had his meniscus removed in College. The most underrated but important factor that made dwades playing style reminiscent of early mj in the mid to late 80s a little more than Kobe is hand size both MJ an Dwades hands are huge (pause) both of their hands are larger than the normal dude. And don’t get me wrong Kobe was a phenomenal player and athlete but Kobe could Neverrr finish around the cup with the array of acrobatics that Mike did, Dwades first step, low center of gravity jumping & finishing ability along with the hand size to literally do what he wanted when he was around the basket in conjunction with highly impactful Defense is what gave a lot of people young MJ VIBES... People don't give him enough credit. He was a slasher before the stretch big and spacing was a thing, it was harder to drive and score in the paint back then for a guy his size. The paint would always be clogged. But this guy always seemed to get in and score no matter what. It was his bread and butter. That's why I adore both DRose and Wade. Both an elite slasher in their prime despite the paint being clogged and despite their size.

Sure, he was athletic and flashy and fun to watch, but what made him my absolute favorite player back in the day was his incredibly high basketball IQ and rock solid fundamentals to go with it. Mix in his superb defense and clutch gene, and that meant he had no holes in his game aside from long distance shooting. Top 5 SG for sure!
