BKN right as they got Kyrie & KD, and/or DET before they moved Chauncey for AI in 08-09. One is more of a tear down, one is a re-tool. Both would be super fun. BKN had a lot of good young players and role players…also all their own picks. Jarrett Allen, LeVert, Claxton, I think they had Prince and Dinwiddie, maybe Joe Harris. They had a ton of movable salaries too. So could’ve built around Kyrie/KD/JA and made a few smaller trades, (or one big trade, not for a superstar but maybe an AS or fringe AS) could’ve had a ton of depth around those 3 and a lot of two way players. They should have all their picks and swaps, could trade like LeVert and Dinwiddie and DeAndre (maybe Prince or Harris too) with picks and add some really good players that way. I think they drafted Cam Thomas around that time too. Allen/Clax C duo is awesome, then a SG next to Kyrie that is a Derrick White/Jrue/Suggs/Caruso type, a secondary ball handler that can defend at least 1/2s and hit C&S 3s. Obv suggestive, do w/e you want, just wanted to share what I think would be a great build around Kyrie and KD. Maybe could even trade for Mikal while he’s still on his rookie deal if he’s good enough. This would be super fun. I know you prefer rebuilds in the 2010s, but I’ve never seen anyone do a rebuild of the Pistons before they fell off hard. They traded Chauncey for AI in 08-09 and that was atrocious. So if you could hop in in 06-08 range and rebuild that’d be cool. Trade Chauncey for young guys and picks, (he still had 4 good seasons left including 3 ASGs) Tayshaun, Rip and Sheed if they hsve some value. Then they had Afflalo and a couple other young guys. ✌️

In a couple months to give it time, could you do James Harden before leaving for Brooklyn? I genuinely feel that with John Wall, Christian Wood and Boogie they could have been a title contender and Brooklyn would have potentially had an all-star in Allen.
