I miss the days of Tyson. I think had Cus lived and was still there to guide Mike, his career would have continued as the heavyweight champion, but unfortunately bad personal decisions and management shortened his dominating presence in the heavyweight division.

I think it was way more damage to his career when teddy left. Teddy was the student of cus. The big brother of Mike. The guy who brought him into the game as an amateur and moulded him into the fighter he was. Rooney was literally a pad holder. Teddy worked on his psychology and made him into the machine he was. With cus’s direction. Him getting away with what he did to teddy is what brought on his downfall, he didn’t learn to be accountable for his mistakes and to have discipline and punishment.

If Mike’s training continued with Cus and Kevin Rooney and his financial well being was being taken care of, his accomplishments to boxing would have shattered records. He was well on course to being 40-0 at one point but that could have easily been 50 or 60-0 if not more.

Man Tyson early Mike is easily the scariest heavyweight of all time. It's no telling what he could have done.. he had an unlimited gas tank back then and just his power and quickness alone is unseen in the hwt division before or since. And he'll be back for one last showcase very soon

No human is unbeatable, but I personally believe the young focused, pure fighter Tyson, before he lost his way, could have and would have beaten any other HW in history. He had all the tools, unbelievable speed and movement, power from all angles, accuracy and lazer focus. Unfortunately once he lost the steadying influence of D'Amato, Jacobs and trainer Rooney and piece of s**t King wormed his way in, this version of Mike was lost forever. But for that short time he was the GOAT.

@@toddclarke2348 dude Tyson was overrated just a smidge 😂 people use Cus as an excuse for why Tyson never beat any top fighters. Even as a kid with Cus, Tyson still was a wild animal. Always getting in trouble in school bullying kids and being inappropriate with girls and getting brought home by the police when he was out with his friends. Guys like Rooney and Atlas have said that the reason Tyson fought every month or two after he turned pro was because they had to keep him in training camp year round. If he ever got a few days off he’d come back in a police car and Cus would always look the other way because Tyson was his ticket back to the big time. and once he became heavyweight champ fighting 10 times a year just wasn’t possible. You’re getting two or three fights a year max, maybe even just one. That leads to a lot of down time and that meant Tyson was always going to go astray even without Cus. Learn your boxing history pal 👌

The peekaboo style was made for a build like Tyson. Short, stocky. It allowed him to get inside and do damage quickly. He barely even threw any jabs or set up punches it was combinations of pure power shots. You pair that with elite conditioning and yeah it’s almost unstoppable.

Buster beat a Tyson that was sniffing cocaine, that didn't train a lick for his fight. He had left Kevin Rooney, Cus was dead, and Mike was losing his passion for Boxin to chase girls and parties. Essentiallysports puts Mike’s prime at prime at 1987-1990. Mike’s first loss of his pro career was in Feb 1990. So he WAS beatable but the guy who beat him (Buster Douglas) had just lost his mom prior to the fight so it takes an unimaginable amount of rage, will and power to beat iron Mike.
