The sad truth is this, out of the thousands of studies that have been done trying to prove that gun control works, there are none that have been able to make any connection. That statement is based on a report by the Rand people, who looked at thousands of studies. In the vast bulk of the studies, the data was so faulty and the methods were so bad that they had to be rejected, these were not objective studies, they were instead studies designed to give a specific result and the data shows that. Things like the data should have had in the normal noise of data collection a certain floor of results that went against the conclusion and the data set was lacking, indicating that it had be "adjusted". The Rand people did come up with around 150 studies that were reasonable and even those had clearly altered datasets. The conclusion from those studies were unable to state that there was any connection between gun control and gun crime.
