Dear god this looks like it would take years to make, absolute accomplishment

Those who are disapponted this project was shuttered will be happy to know that I am still in fact working on my own Metroid Prime 2D with great progress after 9 years. I will not be releasing anything until the game is complete, but I do frequently upload small progress updates so y'all have somrthing to look forward to.

This is amazing. It's the little touches like the sand blowing in through a doorway until in closes shut. So many games that go from screen to screen fail to pull this off. It makes it feel so much more immersive.

This is absolutely beautiful. To think Prime could be translated over to 2D is amazing

I love this so much, from a technical perspective and a fan's perspective! Some things I noticed: - The scan feature is incredibly well integrated. It feels just like the original in so many ways, but works as its own feature here too. It doesn't feel tacked on. - The way the visor's green light illuminates the environment is very pleasing to the eye and is executed spectacularly; I have to applaud you! - Samus's animations while looking around, shooting, landing, jumping, scanning, etc. are fluid and look great. I especially like when her visor's lighting effect follows the cursor and the animation of Samus looking back and shooting. - The music and sound design is perfect! It sounds so true to the original series but has its own soul and personality. The water, doors, enemies, footsteps, etc. all fit right at home in the Metroid series without sounding like a carbon copy. - I like how you made your own environments and gameplay in all of the different areas of Metroid Prime. You could have used it as a roadmap for the 2D version and it would have been great. Here, you make it your own game with your own areas that still gives you the feeling of MP. I could keep going but thank you for posting this! I am so proud of the Metroid community when I see amazing fan projects like this one.

I remember being on the SCU forums and seeing this in its infancy, back when the demo was just like 2 rooms. Such a shame it never got off the ground, though I hope to see someone take up its mantle someday.

I'm really digging the flavour text and the lore hidden throught the levels. The fact that you can scan the environment with Samas' suit is an added (although, optional) bonus. You don't have to scan everything in order to progress, which is a nice touch. I also like that the game does a good job reminding players just how much she depends on her suit in order to survive in such a hostile environment. Without it, the radiation on the planet's surface, the native species, the weather, and even the fauna, would all certainly kill her.

Beautiful! Looks like an old Amiga game, with the 16-bit graphics. Always thought that the Amiga had an unusual look to its graphic and this kinda reminds me of that. Just beautiful!

It seems like it’s though to play without looking awkward if you don’t want to constantly be moving the mouse around even during simple exploration, to avoid Samus constantly be aiming behind her or something. Regardless, the animations are beautiful and it looks gorgeous. Reminds me a lot of Iconoclasts.

I've played a ton of the fan games, and this looks even better, I wish they'd just say "okay yeah, it looks good, let's do a 1 year deal, get everything lore accurate and we'll take 20% you keep the rest for all the work" And knowing corporations, 20% is a fantasy, but damn they'd have an absolute library of new Metroid games and spinoffs if they let these hit the market, would make them lots of money. Not to mention good publicity.

I wish Nintendo would relax a bit on their IP. I mean, the creator never intended to sell this game. Look at the talent that put this game together.... It's AMAZING! Kind of reminds of an old pc game called Abuse. I freaking loved that game.

Samus is a Bounty Hunter. Why nobody never did a base game of Metroid, with a "planet editor", so the community could build their own missions, and add to this "base game", it's beyond my understanding; a real missed oportunity. The base game could start with Samus ship docked in some civilized planet. The "missions" created by the community would be accessed in her base (or ship). Select one mission and BANG! you have a new metroid mod game inside of a same consistent game. This idea, is based on Streets of Rage Remake and it's SoR Maker mode, where people has a set of tools to design their own adventure. The only difference, is that this Metroid game should have a in-game hub to select the mods, that would be designed as "missions available".
