I have a question for you and hoping you may be able to answer. I have a ck liquid cooled torch from work. It has the large 6 pin connector for Lincoln machines. Because that’s the big 575v machines we have at work. I’m trying to find a connector adapter to go from the 6 pin large to a 7 pin small on my tig 225 so I can use my free finger slide amperage control from work on my tig 225. If you have any idea where I can buy one that would be great!!! Thx and keep up the great videos and cheers from Canada!!!

This seems like an incredible machine for the price. 100% duty cycle amps of 250 is the same as the Dynasty 400... which is like a $16,000 machine, lmao. I'm in my second semester of learning TIG at a community college. Thinking of building myself a welding cart with a DIY water cooler built into the bottom rack as a class project, then using this machine with it on a CK20 torch.

The thing you say about the knobs not immediately registering for me it's a feature! How many times you by accident go to close to the welder and slightly touch it and bum, your settings are gone! So lack of sensitivity for me is room for these situations!

Not to sound like a stickler but I’d rather hear my fans running all the time than off and on simply because I know they are working and I don’t have to worry about overheating. I work in a fab shop and it’s loud as hell so to me this is actually not bad with my 225 lol.

Water cooler function is independent of the Tig function! The Tig on demand fans can cut-off during welding, when elec components are below thermal danger & kick-on as needed! Torch water circulation is constant& necessary! Want a quieter cooler, on demand fans would have to become the norm! For 40 years, with Miller blue transformer tig machines, it was usual procedure to let them run 20-30 minutes after the weld job was over. $1 of electricity is cheap insurance trying to prolong the life cycle of a $150-$350 tig torch!

Check out DIY water cooler solutions (no pun intended) on YT. Probably not as applicable to the daily use pros on here, but for us property maintaining, etc, folks, cheap and adequate. Keeping the insides free of dust, etc, will prolong the life of any heat generating machine. The comment about old Millers--transformer machines; Lots more heat, right?

Quick question for you on the the Primeweld. Does it generate much RF noise when AC welding with it? I have been using a Syncrowave 200 since about 2010 and it generates a terrible amount of RF noise when welding AC with it. I weld in our attached garage usually so the noise is a pain as it causes interference with electronics etc in the house. I wasn't sure if the inverter based machines have this same issue or not.

Rubbish. Shame he does'nt understand the welding environment. Lets look at the stinger, How does an un-necessariyBig, dam awkward to use, plastic shroud make it more suitable for high current? I have the smaller stinger with minimal bakerlite shroud that was supplied with my SIP 140 welder purchased over 56 years ago. After a few months, my constant welding down to the last mm of the rod, unsurprisingly caused the bakerlite to burn and crumble off the electrode teeth on both sides. GREAT. The stinger became smaller, lighter, easier to hold, easier to load with rods, easier to adjust rod angle, able to use full rod length in tight positions & no problems as I am not stupid enough to clip the stinger to the earth clamp when its switched on! Over more than half a century I have bought (due to peer pressure & not due to any welding need) 2 new big (professional) stingers & I have given these 2 big expensive stingers to friends that laugh at my small old overworked trusted stinger. Now explain how an earth clamp with long fingers carries more current? Rubbish comment. Try thinking. The manufacturers of this welder have provided a higher curremt capable machine to weld Bigger size project materials. So it makes perfect sense that they supply an earth clamp that has fingers long enough to open & reach around & over larger chassis / workpiece members. Its the spring tension & surface area of contact to the workpiece & cable termination quality that is important not visual yuppyness factor.
@_hector__
@_hector__ 10 күн бұрын
It's not just the shroud of the stinger that's bigger but also the copper or aluminum wire diameter inside the leads which increases duty cycle with higher amperages. Have you ever seen a burnt cable because it was thin and couldn't handle the current? Same principle The ground clamp is not just made in that shape to reach and clamp better but also because since its made of copper and zinc it dissipates heat better and they're great at conducting electricity. The finger design allows it to have a smaller contact area with the heated work. The wire is also thicker like the stingers. This causes less issues when welding and again helps with duty cycle. Let's not forget an important fact that these machines can do DCEN and DCEP, electric current can run from the stinger to the ground or the ground to the stinger, this is why both clamps and stingers have to be equally or similarly thick. You're correct that bigger isn't always better because they're unwieldy so it's a waste if aren't using it to its fullest ratings. Maybe you should try to think and learn, this is embarrassing to see
@koh69r
@koh69r Жыл бұрын
I'm guessing the knobs use a potentiometer, and to avoid knocking it off your current setting, you have to move the knob with enough force for it to pick up that you've made an adjustment Just a guess, idk 🤷‍♂️

As a former electronics geek (turned accountant), whose first computer in 1964 was a couple of potentiometers working with a voltmeter, I would say, "exercise" your pots on a regular basis, especially ones you don't use as often, so that they stay "clean" inside. Might especially be a problem in a dirty shop environment (note that Everlast encourages interior of the cabinet cleaning), but then again, maybe potentiometers are more sealed and durable these days? I kind of like the analog aspect of PrimeWeld machines. I worry about the LED displays and complicated circuit boards behind the more complex machines out there.
