Great job, Captain Morgan!

I believe the disposable set you installed is for the smaller capacity Level 1 warmer normally used in the OR. The high flow trauma disposable set has a WHITE Heat Exchanger with higher flow & warming capability. It also has larger bore sizes including bag spikes & luer fittings. Fortunately both actually fit either machine ... brilliant.

The first time I used one of these was for a trauma in a small community hospital and no one there had any idea how to use it. Thankfully I figured it out, I guess from the diagrams, so it is fairly fool proof!

nice presentation, only a couple of mistakes, you need to turn on the Level 1 when you first put the disposable set into the Level 1 before you prime the line. This will give you green light on the main body and an alarm at the Air detector, at this point you will be able to detect any leaks on the circulating medium ( normally distilled water or H2O2 0.3%)this will also start the heater, if you do this the level 1 will be at 41 deg C before you have the line primed. You also need to look back at the alarm explanation, the alarms on the air detector are not connected to anything on the main body. I suggest you speak with your Level 1 rep and correct these few issues.

With all the beeping and alarms, I sense this is a precious time waster at some point. There needs to be a plan B until this infuser doesn't beep. Pressure bag until the machine doesn't beep?

Step 1: Make sure you have distilled water readily available to keep the fluid chamber (located next to the number 1) filled to the marked line. Most hospitals rely on bio engineers to periodically check these levels, yet the RN is the last stop for safety. Can you fill this fluid chamber with sterile or tap water? NO! Please read the manufacturer's Instructions for Use (IFU) and the manufacturer's educational videos for more details. Any travel ER Trauma nurse or new grad ER RN should teach themselves the ins/outs of any equipment they work with by visiting the manufacturer's website.

Step 1: Throw out this archaic machine, which is essentially just a fancy pressure bag. Step 2: Have the hospital purchase a Belmont rapid infuser... Seriously, if the hospital can't afford a Belmont, they shouldn't be calling themselves a trauma center. They are faster, efficient, and literally anyone with IV pump experience can set it up by just looking at the tubing. Not to mention safer with the ionizing technique it uses it get rid of ANY air bubbles.

Do NOT listen to @GetTheJabPlease. The Level 1 unit has a LONG history of reliability, is easier to set up, has fewer false triggers or alarms and the disposable set can be moved between Hardware Units as needed or function as a non-heated infusion set when released from the hardware.

@@ec120pilott2 Belmont takes much less time to set up. During MTP time is critical. DO NOT listen to this guy.
