Yeah, a lot of guys can do this, but finding a woman who can, well she's a keeper even if she only has 1 leg, 1 eye, and a speech impediment. Quality is in what you can do. You never hit the wall in a mans eyes if you can make Spruce tip tea, and cook on a rock.

Really? a couple thousand people thumbed down this video? They arent doing anything in this video they are only cooking on a rock. We can learn from these videos, these people are teaching us necessary tips.
@AtomicSneeze15 жыл бұрын
as a strictly educational video it is not bad. But as a "survival" video it has one MAJOR flaw and something that should NEVER be done. NEVER, EVER, EVER cook in camp. Food prep and cooking should be done at least 100 yards from the camp when in bear/cougar country. Which is most of the wilds in North America. This is showing VERY bad habits that should be avoided. Cooking in camp can and has lead to many camping deaths. So as an educational video its fine but it should be noted very clearly that this should never be done anywhere near sleeping areas.

Many deaths? From the statistics it wasn't from big cats. There are only about 4 cat attacks a year with 1, on average, being deadly in the US and Canada. Only about 30% of the US even has bears. In most of the US your biggest threat is going to be raccoons. Take precautions if you are in an area with predators, but the "never ever ever" crap is over the top.

We went to Greece a long time ago and unfortunately almost no one spoke English. We went to a restaurant and pointed to something on the menu we couldn’t read. They ended bringing a super heated rectangle shaped stone ( I thought looked like marble) and brought out either lamb or chicken. We were like what the heck do we do lol. The waiter put a piece of the raw meat on the stone and we felt super dumb. In the the end it was super good food and a memorable experience ! I would go to that place again in a heartbeat. Anyway this video made me think of that.

I found it very interesting to watch, very innovative ways to cook if you happen to be out, away from the limelight.. peaceful, quiet, doing all the stuff you'd normally do at home, but in a very natural, raw setting. Free from all life's luxuries and all the gadgets that make chores easy breezy....here's to the folks that made this video, in such a wild, natural setting, without all those fangdangled things. Awesomeness for sure!! 😋

Have you ever thought about Marble Slab. A lot of times people have those that they put in the oven to bake a pizza on. A lot of times people that do marble countertops granite countertops. When they cut the hole out for the kitchen sink they have a piece of slab left over and they just throw it away. And it's possible to get a masonry blade for your skill saw and cut the slab the right size to put it in your oven. Then take Emery cloth and sand the edges down smooth. and then perhaps put the slab in the dishwasher and wash it real good. Then it should be good to go.

The Lord said let there be light and then Pacific Gas and Electric Company came out and turned off the electricity. But all joking aside I went shopping downtown with my 89 year old veteran friend I live with I'm his caretaker I do the cooking and dishwashing and all that stuff. well anyway. We came back from shopping and we discovered we didn't have any electricity. Apparently a squirrel climbed up the power pole. And shorted something out and knocked our power out. By the time that squirrel hit the ground it must have been cooked already. It was laying on the ground below the power pole. When we got home. The ironic thing is my 89 year old veteran friend. Is a retired PG&E supervisor. That made for an interesting conversation when PG&E came out to turn our power back on. Sometimes I'll be cruising around in the car with my friend and he will point out power poles that he had installed over the years. He started out on the bottom floor he was a lineman he climb them polls. He has two bad knees to prove it. the spikes that they strap on their legs and they put their foot up and slam it into the poll to set the spike in poll needless to say that destroyed his knees. Oh those were the days when we were 17 year old kids.

We have a fire ban on right now so made the stuffed bannock on the gas stove in the cast iron fry pan, not very primitive.... But we very much enjoyed your stuffed bannock, it is yummy! Unfortunately we do not have the boat yet and may not get it. The manufacturer has been much less than truthful with us and i don't know when he will have the boat done.......if ever. We may eventually have to cancel our order and get something else.
@tallcedars23108 жыл бұрын
Very sorry to hear the boat order isn't working out, it looks like such a great boat to use for river transport. Sure hope the manufacturer comes around and you can get what you need. I don't know how businesses can operate without following through with what they promise, but there seems to be more and more of that happening unfortunately. In the meantime I hope you can find a boat for your trip and that plans are coming together for you. We went to the dam today and found a flat stone that I hope isn't sandstone. There is slat here, just have find a piece and also check if it's good around fires. Next weekend hope to build a fire and try primitive cooking the bacon and stuffed bannock:) Have a great week!
