Primus and Ugly Kid Joe perform 3-21-92 in Daytona Beach Florida. The BetaGems channel also has "Ugly Kid Joe 5-22-92 New Artist TV Profile," "The Fixx 3-19-89 Spring Break television performance," "Vixen 3-19-89 daytime TV performance, Daytona Beach," "Cheap Trick 3-19-89 Spring Break television performance," "Was (Not Was) 3-18-89 daytime TV performance, Daytona Beach," "Information Society 3-18-89 daytime TV performance, Daytona Beach," "Richard Marx 3-18-88 Daytona Beach spring break," "Spring Break 1994 Flintstones Dancers," "PM Dawn, LA Guns live 3-21-92 spring break," "Lenny Kravitz performs in a loincloth March 1992 spring break," "Aimee Mann & Til Tuesday 3-27-87 Daytona Beach FL 7 songs," "KBC Band (Kantner Balin Casady) 3-27-87 Daytona Beach FL 4 songs," "Primus 3-21-92 Daytona Beach FL w/Ugly Kid Joe," "Samantha Fox 3-18-89 Daytona Beach FL TV performance," "Marky Mark 3-21-92 Daytona Beach FL w/L.A. Guns," "Right Said Fred 3-21-92 Daytona Beach FL w/Brand New Heavies," "3-18-89 Spring Break John Stamos hosts Penthouse Pet bikini contest," "3-18-89 Spring Break dancing, Ami Dolenz, bikini contest."
BetaGems are culled from an archive of over 1000 beta video tapes recorded from 1983 into the 1990s. Most feature live music performances broadcast on television in San Diego CA, though there are also rarely seen commercials, comedy clips, and other material that doesn't seem to be anywhere else on KZfaq or online. Most of the tapes were recorded on a Sony SL-HFT7 Super Beta Theater Hi-Fi Stereo - the same model was refurbished and is being used for these digital transfers and uploads.
In rare occasions where a BetaGems clip does appear elsewhere, we're only uploading if our own beta master is better quality or contains material not seen previously. Much footage comes from public television and public access broadcasts that the taper, who worked for a local cable TV production company in the 1980s, monitored nightly for several years. Some of the programming is strictly regional, mostly from the San Diego area.

It already does dude, primus has been main stream for 30 years. For fucks sake this was most likely on MTV. That was the biggest outlet for music for years. May not be what it once was, but MTV used to be it. If you had a music video play on MTV, you were a success. you were mainstream. But thats when the main stream had balls. The bands have moved to a lower key in the public limelight, because they push trash like taylor swift. But when one of these bands come out with a new album, they shoot past everything on the charts. TooL released Fear Inoculum around the same time as a taylor swift album, I remember her bitch ass fans being all pissed that tools albums were in the top spots one after another and the majority were rereleases on spotify. TOOL was number one for weeks, and they made taylor swift their bitch without the promotional campaign of major studio music. They hit number one multiple times, Based on word of mouth and their following alone. Because the main stream is no longer who the record labels push, its who you are watching online. Which evens the playing field. Anyone can start a band today, if you are good, it doesnt matter if you are big or small, you are a real band. So it doesnt matter if the typical mainstream bs is pushed. Only little bitches will listen to trash, and they eventually become tool and primus fans, so we always win in the end.

I saw primus a few nights in a row on one of their tours and was amazed at how much energy they had every night. It was hard enough for me to drive me and my friends to each venue in a different city every night, but to see them bang it out perfectly every time was impressive. I think once in Seattle, Limp Bizkit opened for them (they were just starting out) and Fred Durst came on to introduce Les and said something like "I don't know how he does it but this guy drinks me under the table every night and crushes these shows." 😂 he was like "I can barely function right now" Les was just like "uh thanks," and did another amazing show.

Came here after reading an article about this show a few minutes ago. 🙂 According to Claypool, things didn’t get any clearer once they got out of the festival. “We flew back that night back up to Poughkeepsie, New York, back to the Public Enemy tour. So we were going from Daytona Beach, which was hot and warm, to literally - taking off - the captain said, ‘Well, the airport's closed in Poughkeepsie due to a blizzard, but we think they'll have it open by the time we get there.’ “So we're like, ‘What the hell!?’ and we had to do one of those fly arounds, which pilots don't like to do that unless something really bad is happening. The plane got almost completely sideways, and everybody's looking out the window, and it was only just us on the plane. And me and Ler frying out of our minds on acid.”

He says he was trippin balls for this show too haha what a great group, some guy who sounds like he pried himself out of a swamp, surfer lookin guitar player and then the drummer, looks like a Seagal cosplay, some straight edge lookin eurogoth. Nobody knew what to think about primus but we all knew it was amazing whatever it was. Bands where the lead singer is the bass player, they make some big waves, Rush, Motorhead, Primus, legends

This how much activists have divided us: back in the day, you had multiple genres doing summer jams then, regularly. People of all races all together. MTVs Playlist was exactly the same. And everybody loved it. Look at what we accept now...

ah 1992, a lot musically happened that year. MTV was crass as ever and the industry too but can't deny some interesting shit took place.

Just watched a very well put together little 10 minute interview/docstory with Les Claypool - as soon as he said that they didn't want to play Daytona and after being told they'd "better do it" Les and a bandmate I think got so pissed off with this that they decided to drop an acid just to achieve some kind of self sabotaging revenge on the organizers - and he says it was a bit more than he bargained for, he was in multicolor hazes didn't hear or see too good....and only now I'm pressing play

I wonder if it would be possible to pull this off on a 4 string maybe tuned to B E A D, haha probably need a lot f neck adjustment and 120s , i dont think i could handle a 5 string, although he has a 6 string, maybe its easier, we'll never know 😂
