Prince Jackson is keeping dad Michael Jackson's legacy alive. The Loyola Marymount graduate revealed how his late father continues to inspire his philanthropic efforts while chatting with Access Hollywood at the 3rd Annual "Thriller Night" Halloween Costume Party to benefit Prince's nonprofit organization, Heal Los Angeles. "I think charity is such a rewarding field to be in," the 22-year-old said. "I feel like there's a lot of work that needs to be done. With who I am and the platform I've been given, it would be wasteful of me to really focus on something else." Prince also opened up about the "raw, unfiltered" relationship with his sister and brother, Paris and Bigi Jackson, admitting that they "100 percent" understand everything he has been through. "It's only made us stronger as siblings to have that bond," he said.

@El Nubian That's some top quality projection there. A big part of what drives fans like you is that you're incredibly jealous that the accusers were actually a part of Michael's life. They had conversations on the phone with him that lasted for hours. They went on tour with him. He told them they were special. He even - by his very own admission - slept in the same bed with them. He sought frequent physical contact. I'm talking public actions like holding hands, sitting on his knee, play-fighting and hugging here. Fact of the matter is: he was openly directly invested in their lives emotionally, physically, and financially, for years. Meanwhile, he's never and will never have known of your existence. While I'm sure he had feelings toward the entity that was fandom, you as an individual will never exceed the status of a paying statistic to the brand that is Michael Jackson. Your personal (emotional) relationship with him and his world is wholly one-sided. Many of you will have often fantasized about things being different. About having been one of his child friends. You feel as though these children and men have betrayed this fantastical life you wish you'd had. One not so damn mediocre.

He also bought a publishing catalog that included 250 Beatles songs, which sadly in his last years may or may not have been the reason for his dept. Courtney Newton-John I do see ur point sis!! Sorry for the misunderstanding, I do agree that prince saying that is like denying all his fathers great work. At the end of the day he is most known for his musical contributions hence he was named the KING OF POP. That was probably a mistake on prince side, nonetheless I know he means no harm ! Maybe he was caught up in the event and wanted to focus on those points specifically, because the event is about his charity foundation n stuff. But one thing I find in Prince is that he is not shy or ashamed of his father, he openly talks about him reminiscing moments with his father n his childhood. Unlike Paris who seems a bit closed off in my opinion, she seems as if shes afraid of judgment n even if she does mention him it’s always indirectly like she’s embarrassed or something.

He doesn't know what he is talking about. He said Michael wanted his legacy to be more about "philanthropy", rather than "the music" .. well that is simply not true? Watch Michael Jackson's speech at Harlem in 2002, he wanted to make his musical lineage in the black tradition of James Brown and Jackie Wilson very clear. If you only concentrate on the philanthropy and disregard the music and the dancing legacy, then what is the difference between MJ and John Lennon, because John Lennon was a great humanitarian TOO! Yes, Michael was a great humanitarian but what makes him unique is that he was a black entertainer and dancer who got up there with white, guitar rock gods like Elvis and The Beatles. That is Michael's true legacy.

@courtneynewton-john8862 4 жыл бұрын
@@LCB-gz8cz If it was more important to him than anything else he would have quit showbiz and become a full time missionary or aid worker, but he didn't, did he? As late as 2002 he was still asserting his musical lineage as a descendent of the black song and dance tradition. This is something he really wanted to make clear, several times (at his Harlem speech) he expressed concern that people weren't taking him seriously enough, he said "please don't put this in your heart today and then forget it tomorrow", he even said "put this into your subconscious mind"... was he talking about world peace? No. He was talking about racism in the music industry and how wanted to be remembered as the descendent of someone like James Brown and not a white, guitar rock artist like Elvis Presley. It was very important to him. I agree that nothing is more important on earth than world peace, but Michael Jackson was not Ghandi, he was first and foremost a singer and dancer, and he had a unique lineage for someone that far up the music hierarchy. "I remember my mother calling me, "Michael! Michael! James Brown is on TV", and I would stop whatever I was doing and run to the TV, and I'd just be mesmerised, watching the master at work. I knew every twist, every turn, every bump, every grind" --- Michael Jackson, Harlem, 2002

Unfortunately Michael is not in heaven if he didn’t Repent from sexually abusing those other children. Also after people die they don’t hang around on earth . People who think that are deluded . Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed for a man to die once ..but after this , the judgment.

Prince.... Your father, Michael Jakcson is not only known as the king of pop, the great entertainer of all time, the humanitarian, philantropic, he is also a visionary. I was never a fan of Michael, although if I liked his music, I always saw him, since I was a child, since I am a year younger than MJ, but a while ago, I became the fan of the man I was, a great human being, I admire him, and there are many new generations, that I see, in different languages, that they say, I have learned to be more humble, to respect everyone, and to believe more in God, because I learned it from Michael Jackson. This is what my heart touches.

There is more to being Michael Jackson's "son" than just being an "humanitarian", John Lennon of the Beatles was a great humanitarian too and he came before Michael Jackson, he wrote "All You Need Is Love" and "Give Peace a Chance", how is that any different from "Heal the World" or "We Are The World"? Michael Jackson had OTHER SONGS TOO, not just those peace songs that Prince mentioned. And If you do what Prince said in this interview and only concentrate on the "philanthropy", then Michael's legacy just blends in with John Lennon's. OF COURSE you have to concentrate on ALL THE MUSIC and especially the dancing because that is what makes Michael Jackson unique, but Prince is playing down that aspect of Michael's legacy because he knows he can't dance and he's not really Michael's "son", that's why he says "Oh, it's just about being an humanitarian".

Courtney Newton-John never ever said such a thing. no one is as talented as mj, he is the greatest entertainer of all time. but he loved us, the people more than anything. he was both an entertainer and humanitarian. i just think you are wrong, and it’s wrong to think you know mj better than his son.
