The late Princess of Wales was hounded by the press however she did not help herself; it is now known that Her Majesty the Queen all but begged the Princess NOT to dispense with the protection offered by The Royalty Protection Branch (SO14). If the Princess had done as the Queen had requested SO14 would never have allowed the press to torment her to the degree they did in her later years, they would also never have allowed the Princess to be driven by some Harrods flunky who was over the limit.
