What I REALLY love about this is that they pay homage to the video games, both the old-school 2D ones (including Mario's debut in Donkey Kong) and the Mario Kart series. I had a huge grin on my face when I saw the bridge with flying piranhas (that's Stage 3 of the original Super Mario Bros on NES).

@@SurfRay There are 8 "Worlds" in the original game. Stage 3 is EITHER the athletic mushroom level as you call it, or the bridge with jumping fish. I haven't played the game for almost 20 years but yeah... I'm pretty sure of that.

I'm very happy to see that Illumination is going to include Princess Peach lovely voice acting by Anya Taylor-Joy and nice to see that the coloured Yoshis from Yoshi's Island are going to be in the movie and even watching Mario race in a Mario Kart race reference on Rainbow Road along with both the Donkey Kong and Super Mario stages. I also love Charlie Day as the voice of Luigi absolutely hilarious Donkey Kong played by Seth Rogen and Cranky Kong played by Fred Armisen both look good too and that they are going to be in the movie along with the Toads and Toad himself played by Keegan-Michael Key. Nice work Illumination and Nintendo I can't wait to see the movie when it opens in cinemas next year and Princess Peach looks really good too.

my guess from the trailer is that Mario and Peach go to the Kong to recruit them to fight Bowser (hence why Mario fights Donkey, to prove he is worthy of being helped), then they all drive the rainbow road to Bowser's castle. Feels kinda weird that Mario already has a kart in his custom colors though

It also makes me feel as though Chris Pratt will gradually start to sound like Mario over the period of the movie. He starts off as a Brooklyn plumber with his normal voice but gets into the Italian accent as he learns about the new world and overcomes all the obstacles. Then at the end, he’ll sound like the Mario we all know and love. Though this is highly improbable

I was concerned at first for Chris Pratt’s Mario voice, but after hearing a little more of it in action in this trailer, it’s a lot better than I originally thought it would be. I thought it would be just Chris Pratt’s normal voice but with a Brooklyn accent, but it seems he’s putting a bit of that higher-pitched Mario joyfulness into it as well. Very excited for this movie!

Many bash Mario for not sounding exactly like Mario - that or relentlessly analyze nearly every line he says. Many are praising Bowser and Luigi for sounding like Bowser and Luigi. Meanwhile, Peach sounds absolutely NOTHING like her original voice. She even sounds as generic as can be, so no more high-pitched whimsical voice for her. Yet... no one seems to bat an eye at that. Whatever happened to all that purist outrage? I guess she gets a free pass.

I loved that the team behind the movie placed a lot of elements from the Mario games such as Mario Kart where Mario and his friends drive their go-karts on Rainbow Road and classic Super Mario Bros. levels and a horde of Yoshis!

If they use rainbow road as a way to Bowser, then that means it's a paper Mario reference, since in the one where Bowser kills everyone Because he wanted his shell to be colorful, Luigi uses his kart and the rainbow road as a way to Bowser's castle

The Line: "There is a huge Universe out there, with a lot of galaxies" could mean a few things: 1. Every "Game Universe" is canon in the film universe as some sort of parrallel universe (Luigis Mansion, Mario Galaxy, Mario Odyssey, etc.) 2. Super Mario Galaxy exists as a concept in the film Universe, so Rosalina might come in :) Both options have the potential for sequels, I hope for a Mario Galaxy one, as it could give Rosalina and the Lumas more lore :D

Looking at the map, we got Bowser’s realm at the top, the other burnt one to the top right is the icy Penguin city we saw in the previous trailer, beneath that looks like a Yoshi area (going by the environment around the Yoshi later in the trailer), bottom is the Mushroom Kingdom, right beneath Bowser’s lair is Kong Island, and I think the desert one could possibly be Sarassoland where Daisy is from

I have a theory for the Ending of the movie, and something in this new trailer has kinda show it might be true. My theory is that Peach has a power star that she has kept a secret, and bowser has 7 of them already, bowser takes it from peach and kidnaps her and takes the last power star. the 8 power stars will be collected by bowser and he will unlock this badass but powerful form. The ending for me and all of us is unknown. But yeah thats.... Basically my theory.

I counted we have Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario World, Super Mario Bros 3, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Galaxy, and Mario Kart, Im HELLA HYPED!!!! 😆 also I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT PEACH!

Just saying, I love that Rainbow Road scene. Rainbow Road is my favorite from Mario Kart (specifically the Wii version). And I love Peach's voice. I'm super hyped for this movie, even more than I already was. Looking forward to seeing Luigi as well.
