I just watched this again tonight after having heard that coach Carril passed away a few hours ago. Tears come to my eyes watching the beauty of the motion in that final Princeton play: pure fundamental basketball in the most cerebral sense … RIP coach !

I bet Mr Carril would be so proud of the recent upset for Princeton over Arizona

I love the decision making: when the first back door cut wasn't there, the high post man held off, but patiently waited for the second one. The two were obviously on the same page, and that's smart basketball! 🏀

I guess if you play at Princeton, you have to have had some smarts. lol.

Harrick seemed genuinely happy for Carril right there.

Remember it like it was yesterday. This game was truly phenomenal at a time when upsets weren't nearly as common as they are now.

A real Hoosiers story in Indy! Most of the 43,000 fans were pulling for the Tigers, their home arena seats less than 9,000! 🏀

I guarantee you, as soon as the bracket came out this year....Coach Harrick said, "Fuck"... No one wanted to play Princeton in the mid-90's. Everyone knew it was only a matter of time before they would get one.

The second-round game against Michigan St. was good too. Right before the half, with the score tied 25-25, Michigan St. closed out the half with a perfectly executed. extremely athletic backdoor cut, and their players were giving high-fives all over the place. It was a nice show of respect.

I was at the 1989 Georgetown/Princeton game in Providence. I thought they had that one. Everybody in the stands wanted Princeton to win.

Have you seen the 30 for 30 short film called “The Billion Dollar Game”? It was about that game that altered NCAAB forever
@Galilee1964 Жыл бұрын
@@bvalenz I have not. I just looked it up, though. I do remember that they were talking about taking away the Ivy League's Automatic Bid, and this game changed that. Thank you for mentioning it.

I still remember that this game ended right before midnight and the announcers or studio guys making some corny line like "Cinderella leaves the ball before the strike of midnight".
