Hope they are not paying anyone for this wasted effort. This was an inactive den, occupied by transient woodchucks. There are likely no other holes connected to this den. They have single hole dens a large portion of the time with satellite holes in many other adjacent yards. This chuck was absent when the camera was placed. Sometimes it is days or weeks before they return. I have waited 13 days for a chuck to return, but over the next 23 days 5 more came to the same all days apart. If you want to learn about wildlife, woodchucks, skunks, raccoon, bobcats, armadillos, etc., ask a trapper, someone who encounters wildlife 7 days a week all day long.
