Left seat pilot in command only applies to fixed wing aircraft. On helicopters the pilot flying is in the right seat, or as in this case of an Apache, they are in the rear seat.

The Captain or PIC sitting in the left seat ONLY applies to Fixed Wing Aircraft. In a transport category heli like a Blackhawk, the PIC sits in the right seat. In an attack Helicopter the PIC sits in the rear seat and the gunner sits up front.

You didn't have to trash Harry in order to rightfully point out that Prince William did fly air ambulance helicopters. Harry did serve in a combat role with the Royal Marines and no one called him "bunker Harry" - he helped bring the Invictus games to service men and women.

Before he becomes King he has to choose his name. He may not go with William. He might choose another name. like Billy or Tutankhaten to honour the Egyptian side of the family (lol). Charles went with Charles III. Monarchs can choose the name he or she wants to use as monarch. George VI was better known to his family as Albert or Bertie. Queen Victoria's name was Alexandrina. Edward VII's first name was Albert, but he chose to be called Edward when he became King. Doubt the British Govt. would let William fly after his coronation. They don’t allow the Royal family to bundle up on the same plane in case it goes down. They could lose all the spares. Otherwise they’d have to rely on King Henry (aka Harry) to take the throne and wear the crown. As the younger son of King Charles III and Diana, Princess of Wales, he is fifth in the line of succession to the British throne. Second in line to the Nigerian kingdom after Meaghan, (lol). Harry’s safe abroad as a Spare. No chance of sharing a helicopter or plane with those in line of succession. He’s the back up.

He is still only the heir, HRH Prince * William. Which, sadly, will not be his name as King of England, he has chosen George, in honour of his great - grandfather, George VI.

@@jakeaviator1515 He is training to pilot that aircraft which means at some point he will be flying it. He is a qualified pilot and has flown other aircraft and has his wings. He is has never flown an Apache before and now is their commander so he wanted to train on that aircraft.

He is only in that seat for training purposes. He is a qualified pilot and has his wings, he has flown military aircraft and worked as a air ambulance pilot for many years and saved a lot of lives in Wales. He has never flown an Apache before so was training on that aircraft as he is now their commander.

No one sold out their family June. Harry left for the sake of Meghan’s mental health remember. All through his childhood he’d also told his father of his intentions as an adult. No shock there.
