Saw Principal Edwards at Essex University around 1970. A great experience! Thanks for putting this up...!!!

I've just discovered this band through one of my hippy friends who used to go and see them play live. Fantastic 😊 I could see them performing along side the likes of The Incredible String Band.

I saw PEMT three or four times at the Blues Loft in High Wycombe and was blown away by their performance - hypnotic. To see them again after all this time is a dream come true so thanks for making this available. I haven't stopped smiling since it started.

I saw them every time they played Mother's in Birmingham--totally adored them--I still listen to Soundtrack all the time--Vivienne McAuliffe's voice suited the dramatic music perfectly--it was never going to work long term but it was magic while it lasted!

Thank you greatly. This is as close as I'll ever get to seeing this band live. I had their first two albums more or less as they came out. What an era for music, for so much more than mere music!

I saw them back in late 1970 when they were heading the bill with 2 unknown bands called Hawkwind and Supertramp.

Thank you for publishing this. I remember recording this but have never, ever seen it. I thought it was gone for good. My life flashed before my eyes watching this!

+pykkervots I'd left the band before 1972 so wasn't there myself!. I somehow was logged in as my son when I replied!

This is one of the best films from the year I was born. I got into this music when I was in my late teens so probably about the age you were when you played in the band!

Saw PEMT just once , in Sunderland , over 50 years ago. Weird shit, but absolutely mesmerising. Oh, to be a teenager again!

I was too young to see them back in the day and only got into them in the mid 80s. Marvellous to see this. John Peel's wife (The Pig) supposedly hated them which is inexcusable. No-one will convince me that that this isn't a million times better than crud such as Jason Zed Esq.

@@morganfisherart He's married to some woman called Beyoncee.

The Pig's attitude was evidently coloured by how she felt some of the ensemble abused the hospitality offered by John and herself at their home.

Definitely a sign of the times, not the best that Kettering has produced though.

Loved them too - so much so that they were one of the first bands i booked to play Southend College of Arts&Science when i was appointed social sec. of the Student Union (1971 if memory serves). Awful pity about the adfio treatment on this clip though, they sounded SOooo much better than this...

Peel couldn't stand these fey herberts. As the great man said "rightly so"
@Zeitgeist9716 ай бұрын
Yeah, but Peel was a first class hypocrite. Claimed to like Rock then disowned it. Praised Bolan then refused to acknowledge him, liked ELP then badmouthed them. The guy was a complete tosspot and as phoney as they come.
@redhotfunkyblues5 ай бұрын
Is that why he signed them to Dandelion Records? Doh! I think things did go a bit sour though, but he promoted them wildly at first and obviously loved their music.
@Zeitgeist9715 ай бұрын
@@redhotfunkyblues But that was his modus operandi, praising people and then saying he hated them and insulting them to boot. His whole career was based on duplicity, even pretended to be a scouse in the USA when he thought that lie would further his career. He was 100% dodgy.
