Telemedicine center AIIMS Bhopal has collaborated with Mrs. Sheila Wheeler RN, MS, President Teletriage system California USA for development of Tele-triage Protocols and subsequent training of Primary responders. Mrs Wheeler is an expert in Teletriage practice, protocol development, and training. She is the course Director and resource person for several tele-triage protocol workshop across America, Europe, and Asia. She is the author of several books on Tele Triaging.
Telemedicine Centre has recently updated the telehealth call centre with the customized application through which we can receive patient calls, record their complains, advise treatment through SMS, with the additional facility of voice conference with the specialist department if required. With these features, we are now ready to run a voice-based tele-health call centre which will serve as a tool for patient care as well as research. This is intended to treat trivial complaints with significant savings of time and cost for the patient. More importantly, this will help us decongest the OPDs making room for more serious patients.
