Here is 45 minutes of printing two-color thank you cards on my 123-year old Chandler & Price letterpress.
I hope you can turn this on in the background and enjoy the ASMR sounds of my antique press.

Quoins should be at top of forme, fixed furniture at foot (to match fixed bottom lay). Also, quoins are back to front - the inner wedges should point towards the fixed sides of the forme.

Not sure why you move your press so fast. Those guys in Sacramento museum use to move it more slowly like half as much, but they can print continuously and just put paper in and out each turn so it looks more efficient and less difficult.

Must have had too much caffeine that day I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️ I prefer to skip feed anyway for better ink distribution on the rollers

@@poppypressstudio It must need a lot of experience to know how much ink you put on and the pressures needed (set packings) to have a nice print, is it?

It does take experience and I'm definitely still learning! That's partly why I'm making these videos, to look back and see how my printing evolves and (hopefully) improves in time ☺

It's not blank, the illustration is printed in a pale seafoam green. I love muted tones!

Hey thanks for the feedback. I typically don’t measure ink for personal projects like this one. I probably should have mixed a little more ink though. The camera angle makes it hard to see but the form was inked properly and the cards turned out exactly how I wanted! Thanks for watching ~

Peter, you are correct, the blue tapes hold the "guides" that keep the paper in place, usually it is 2 guides at the bottom and one to the left and the paper is pushed to the corner trying to place it all the time at the same place if you are going to print over a 2nd, or 3rd. Color. I guess you already know that. Still this brings back memories of times long gone. I'm 78 y.o. and worked my print shop for 30 years.

It's true, I typically use only 3 henry gauge pins but for some reason I felt like 4 would be better for registration on this job. Thanks for watching!
