i used to make a hole in my MP258 to make way for the ink to flow outside printer, can we do that to G2000?

Did this and follow these steps , then you don't need to pay, remove pads, leave one clean one in, then reset using the below steps (Service mode) Printer off Hold the stop button then press the power button and keep holding the power button. Release the stop button. Press the stop button 5 times then release the power button. (Waste ink tank reset) While in service mode Press the stop button 5 times then the power button once wait for it to reset and run a page. Then press the stop key 3 times then the power button wait for the printer to print out a page then turn of the printer. (Ink filling)(air bubbles in pipes) Turn on printer Press and hold the stop button for about 5 seconds for 5 flashes and release. Go to windows /control panel / devices/ printers and find the printer properties, run deep cleaning mode if required there, then print a test page. (canon g3501)

I was told elsewhere that we need to replace the two bottom absorbers, as well, which can be reached only with a more extensive disassembly. Otherwise we were warned that ink would leak out. Your thoughts?

u took out 4 absorers but put in 3.when I ordered the absorbers there came 4.I had forgotten the arrange I had taken them out.could u pls tell me if there are 3 or 4 pads to be put in

It looks great, but it has two main issues - absorbent pads seems to be unavailable except as part of the repair in service center. The material seems to be quite similar to absorbent celulose wadding/bandaging celulose. Unfortunately the celulose sheets are of single layer (at least of what I have seen), so you have to take e.g. three layer , fold them and then cut them (using sciccors etc.), so every folded three-layer sheet would have like 18 layers or so. Every pad can be replaced by approximately three folded three-layer sheets. There are three absorbent pads of different sizes (plus one quite deep ion the left bottom side). SECOND: The reset of the counters here is done by Canon service utility - it is in general unavailable. But quite handful can be the WIC Reset Utility - the key for reseting counters cost like 9,90 USD (application is free, but reseting costs one key, payed via credit card, paypal or so), which is acceptable (Cannon repair would cost at least 4x more). The last improvement is in the transparent silicone pipe - it is located on the left side belllow the cables (the last pad in time 1:10 is removed from right below the pipe) and ends on the absorbent pads. It is used probably for waste ink in boarder-lss printing or so. To improve the lifetime of the absorbent pads (but the counter overflow anyway), you may cut/drill small hole in the rear panel and put it into the empty balck ink bottle, so the waste ink would not end in the pads but in the bottle....

So whats the point of posting a how to video, if the software needed to reset the counter, and the ink absorber pads are not available to consumers? Even if we were to re-use to turn the pads around, the software is still needed. So basically this video is a huge waste of time for a consumer looking for solutions!!!!
