For the the month of October, leading up to Halloween, we are highlighting the weirder and stranger cuts in our print shop exhibit. This woodcut in the shop is of unknown origins, but it is probably one of the most disturbing woodcuts that we have.
Of course, this woodcut reminds us of the story of Mike the Headless Chicken, a chicken that lived for 18 months after losing its head in 1945. The chicken gained national fame touring in sideshows until March 1947.

It's miracle Mike the headless chicken! Wikipedia: Mike the Headless Chicken (April 20, 1945 - March 17, 1947)[1] was a male Wyandotte chicken that lived for 18 months after his head had been cut off. After the loss of his head, Mike achieved national fame until his death in March 1947. In Fruita, Colorado, an annual "Mike the Headless Chicken Day" is held every May.

That image is truly Disturbing, dispite the fact that Yardbird is the only meat that many folks can afford. Now industry wants to suggest that we switch to stuff made with Plant Protein!! Where will it end??
