Sometimes, there's a man. Well, he's the man for his time and place and he fits right in with the world around him. That's Cooper Darquea. Now I won't say hero, 'cause what's a hero? Some might call him a legend though. With humble Rhode Island origins some might say he was born to ride the mountains of California and that his journey west was foretold by prophecy. Well, we lost our train of thought here... but hell, we've done introduced it enough. We hope you enjoy this here "Faces" video about Cooper Darquea.

The "I surrender" song was so perfect for this video and a nice change of pace from the usual electronic crap everyone else uses. And if anyone else has ever flown down a hill at dangerous speeds you know that above all else it's about surrendering to the experience. Much like a bad trip, the more you fight it, stiffen up, get scared etc. the worse it gets... Only until you surrender can one truly be present

3:34 - It's 4 o'clock in the morning the night after I met you guys skating at the top of Montavina Rd on the mountain across I-17 from Lexington Reservoir. After a little rest, I thought I'd check out your vids. Now I woke my neighbors!!! I wasn't ready for that stone wall-brush at 3:38, and I screamed out loud on the approach! I thought you were going into the wall, and over the edge!!! After about a minute, I began to wonder what it was that had scared me so much a minute earlier, so I backed up the vid to where Ryan(?) is grousing about, "Who stole my candy???" and forwarded from there. When I got to the wall-approach, I completely involuntarily screamed again. It's like having one of those faces surprisingly jump out of the screen at you; you can't hold back your involuntary reflex to SCREAM!!! But this one keeps on scaring me. That is a masterpiece piece of vid!!! Wow!!! And to think I was audacious enough to suggest that you might get someone to follow you down the mountain to get some closer-up video!!! Sorry, guys. Respect!!! Keep on truckin' !!!
