A full set (120) of prismas are £200 where I live A 126 set of artxx is £60, the choice is made for me through simply what I can afford (I'm not buying more sets rn as I have 3 to go through tho, but when I finish one I'm looking to try the artxx and/or kalour). Heck a full set of polychromos with improved light fastness is cheaper than prismas in my region

I never regretted buying Prismacolors. Since it's summer vacation, I have more time to draw now. I could barely draw because of college 💀😣😑

I just wish Arrtx sold the pencils individually so I could refill the ones I’m low on without buying a whole new pack 😅

Thank you so much I have been debating as to whether or not to even spend the amount of money it costs are in the US to get the Artxx. I enjoy my Prismas although I tend to be more into my castle arts and indra creatives for coloring, but this was the final answer that I needed as to whether or not to spend the money on another set. I'm starting to run out of some Prismacolors, largely due to breakage. I just got a set of arrtx to help supplement that, and for larger areas etc, to help "eke out" my prismas a little longer.

Arrtx are amazing pencils, they work very similarly but their only “issue” is that they’re not as opaque and can’t handle as many layers. There’s a big price difference so that’s why

Prismas drive me insane with how much they break on me. I'm whittling away a whole pencil when I try to sharpen them. Can't be great at blending if the lead keeps breaking off. I'll have to give the Arrtx a try.

So Arrtx have the same colours, the same blendability, they don’t break or leave a horrible dusty mess on your page, but Prismacolor still wins? Was this video sponsored or something?

Not sponsored (in fact, I got the Arrtx pencils for free from Arrtx, but paid for Prismacolor with my own money) Sometimes the differences are minor but can’t be put into words. It’s the tiniest little things like the extra layers and blendability, even though both brands are good. My longer video called “I tried every pencil in the world” shows more testing that I’ve done to compare brands like this

Basically prismacolor is better but Arrtx paid her believe me I have both prisma wins by a long shot

Thanks for the review! I've wanted the 72 set of Prismacolor Premier for the last couple of years but I hoard the 48 I bought a few months ago like a dragon lol. I find a great alternative to the premiers are the scholar set of 60. The color range is great, they're decently soft, and blend really well. I have both the original set before they were bought out and the new set.

I can’t tolerate the terrible Prismacolor quality. Derwent Coloursoft are a beautiful, beautiful soft pencil. Unique colours and brilliant blending-fantastic mix with the fabulous Derwent Drawing pencil range too. Have you tried them? I’ve dropped many times and surprised they don’t break. Prisma seem to break if you even breathe near them.

I LOVE PRISMA! I have tried other brands and nothing seems close. I might try these just for random coloring. Save special things for.PRISMAS! 💜

Have you tried Cretacolor Megacolors? They are pretty close to prisma and luminance in my opinion, the only drawback could be the core size...they are jumbo and don't get into smaller areas as easy and are not as good for fine details, but for vibrancy and softness of laydown, they are great!

The lightfastness is what i really look for in coloured pencils. My caran d'ache luminance cannot be beaten!

I rarely ever have my Prismas break. Prismas are definitely the winner 😊

The reason why prismas break so damn easily is that the lead in the pencil is a soft waxy oil mix and it makes it crumble easily

After I got a new pencil sharpener all my breakage stopped. My first sharpener was a new manual Prismacolor Premier sharpener and it ate up half a 36 set. Got a new electric sharpener and had maybe 2 Prismacolor pencils break in 2 years once I did. Those were the same pencils that broke with the PP manual. I bought an even better grade pencil sharpener along with my 150 set of PP last Christmas and no breaks in any of my pencil sets. In my experience pencil breaks are caused mainly by faulty sharpeners.

So u said the Amazon basic pencils are the closet thing to prisma so now that u did artxx what do u think now out of the three what's your opinion?

I’ve never tried Amazon basic because they won’t ship to Australia!

They break because it’s a softer Led, if you get the hard prisma’s then it won’t as much

I like the vibrancy of the prismacolors better, the artxx are still a great choice though

Prismas has higher base stat. Wouldn’t use arrtx in a competitive match

I dislike primas color pencils so much. I bought a full set few years ago and hardly used them and they are just sitting there. I will try them one more time to maybe grow l to ove them and see if my opinion about them change but What I hate about them is that sure they are blendable but they get way too waxy to the point that it starts to look foggy. Also if you add too much pressure it starts to "melt" as your coloring is what I call it so you have to sharpen it frequently to keep a sharp point. And then they are so soft they break while sharpening. And they are crumbly I just hate them so much that I just wanted to sell them and not look back. It's been about 1 or 2 years since I've touched them so I will give them 3rd and final chance to see if maybe I'm using it wrong. but Prisma's are not for everyone I guess... But no doubt they have beautiful unique colors.
