I've just bought one, and im a male. Its good for having a physical extension to focus you're improvement in tai chi, and also the better a dancer or more fluid your movement, the more it appears your whole body is in a state of balance, which makes it look beautiful. I borrowed one from my friend Dan, and I have to say I'm really enjoying dancing with it, and people seem to enjoy seeing me dance with it, so it seems like it's a win/win. One question though, what do you use for string? I've been using string for Bracelets, but its seems a little too visible at times.

@GigioR Well, with poi, when girls do it, it look like it's a very dancy, feminine thing, yet guys can do poi as well without directly mimicing this style, in their own particular idiom. The same is true of a flow wand.
