@@theglassmaster3140 it's because at that age, when you go in, your life's literally put on pause, so in return, most the time so is your maturity and decision making skills. So when you come out yeah you may be 25 on the outside but you're still the same 18-19 year old person that went in, with some serious issues on trust, your personal space, and over reacting when you feel you get tried because of how you had to handle it when you were incarcerated. It sucks too because like you can only help them readjust so much , they have to want to make that mental change.

Bringing back more memories for me... When I got out after 16 months and first stepped on grass, I felt like I sunk and dropped everything I was holding. I had only walked on concrete for that whole time, and stepping up over a curb to walk on grass floored me. Also moving in the car was an adjustment, seeing trees move in the wind. Seeing a dog move was confusing, it still trips me out how it looked so CGI but in person. Most of all though was the emotions- When I saw my brother I got weak in the knees and fainted... felt higher than I had ever been in my life- pins and needles through my hole body.

I never did prison time, but I did 8 months in county jail back in 2008. When I was released, I remember the first thing that occurred to me when I first walked outside was how bad the air smelled. The county jail here where I live is located right in the middle of the city. The air just smelled so nasty and gross. I adjusted within a few minutes and didn't notice it anymore, but it really smelled bad I remember.

I knew a dude just like TK up here in Tennessee. He was a cool guy, and straight up with his friends. He did the best with what he had but ended up getting shot and died about 8 years ago. RIP Drew. I was a guard in North Florida for many years.... I was one of the cool ones though..... fully tatted out......rode a motorcycle....etc.... I was the football coach at Baker CI for a few years in the mid 1990s.... finished up a YO camp in lake city (CCA) in 2006.... Crazy reliving insane prison moments while watching these stories…a lot of people don’t make it out…and if they do they don’t make it back…and if they make it back they are still marked for life…it’s takes an entire life and mentality change to not repeat these insane cycles of in and out of jails and prisons. I was locked up at 17. Bound over as an adult. Madison Correctional has a unique juvenile block on the camp and when u turn 18 they either ride you out or just move you to other block. First camp M.a.C.I then LeCI after in ODRC. Our juvenile prison goes to 21 in Ohio. DYS. Department of Youth Service. I got plenty of crazy stories. Your show is dope and raw. Hell, you get in anyone in guard and they'll just shank your legs, arms, ect. Boxing or any stand up fighting style gives you way better odd against multiple opponents or weapons
