Hello Colin, You are correct in thinking that Private Investigator Licencing has not occurred since this recording was made. However, the Level 3 Professional Investigator Awards have become part of our landscape and the trade organisations as well as the wider Private Investigator industry has, to a point, "Self-regulated" in the absence of Security Industry Authority Licences, by completing these awards (Pearson or IQ). Theresa May (When Home Secretary) is on record as saying that our industry will be licenced and I believe that once the definition of the roles a PI undertakes is, ironed out", formal licencing will, eventually, occur. I acheived my Level 3 Professional Investigator Award through Pearson / EDI in 2011 and it revolutionised our capabilities at Burton Regan Limited. I know that our clients were especially impressed and it was well worth it. +mohamed ali The Professional Investigator Awards have been designated to our industry by the SIA. However, without ministerial approval they are a basic training course. You need to take an invigilated exam at an approved centre.
