In Japan, it is considered to be possible to keep it for about 10 years, and it is recommended to replace it after 10 years.Some of us have been using it for 30 years or so, though. 😂

In tropical region like Northeast India, this kind of fence though it's beautiful can hardly last for 3 years and it consumes too much time to built.

Sorry. Im new to understand about carpentery. What is bamboo's strength compared to among other usual woods used like plywood etc ?

Compared to wood, it is softer than wood, so it is difficult to use it on posts. However, it contains oil, so it repels water and does not rot easily.

Not in Japan ...mate !!! Some naughty people did it here few years back, burning the hedge fences in some influential suburbs in Melbourne ( may be out of envy ?) ... Some of the villas having like 20 - 30 year old hedge fences so very ... spectacular when they caught fire !!!
