With the game set to Japanese, cutscene dialogue will change, boss shouts will change, but music tracks are the same language everywhere. Import the official soundtrack albums from Japan and they'll come sounding the exact same as they do in the English client. Most of the time, lyrics in this game are in English, but there are a few exceptions. A few have Japanese lyrics, and one or two are in Latin.

Yeah, not sure what that person was on about. Songs aren't localized in FF14. There's a handful in some older FFs that were but I can't think of any in 14.

@@TarundiMC Well, the most popular ones will probably be Suteki Da Ne and Sen no Kotoba having English versions, and Eyes on Me having a Japanese variant but yeah can't recall any for FFXIV.

@@Eiensakura Suteki Da Ne didn't even have an English version in game, I think it was just for a Distant Worlds concert/album. But yeah 1000 Words had both EN and JP.

My best guess is that there are canon translations of many songs into Japanese, so a leap of logic was made without actually, you know, checking.

There is three songs in Japanese - that would be Amatsu Kaze, Sunrise and Wayward Daughter - themes of Byakko, Suzaku and Tsukuyomi. All bosses from Far East. So lyrics in Japanese only when boss is from FF version of Japan (well, some of them - Susano, Rathalos and Seiryu theme songs don't have lyrics at all).

Two little theme details in this song: 1. The clinking sound of coins in a cloth bag for percussion, fitting for a deity of wealth. 2. The key and time signature (tempo?) change every time the beat drops, matching the twin gods of fortune in life and the afterlife.

This song is so beautiful and entertaining, I love it. And the raid is toptier too, fun fights, fun lore. And a beautiful, colorful aesthetic that proves, once again, that a raid/game doesn't have to be all grim-dark to be excellent.

Same power as Lakshmi's theme IMO. You can listen it on repeat until you'll vomit. Then you give like 10 minutes rest and let's go again!

The bit that you think is in Footfalls is a sped up version of Crystal Prelude being played in the background by the flute-type instruments, I'm pretty sure? Crystal Prelude is Final Fantasy's theme song, just for context
