As an adult that is trying to learn table tennis from scratch, its hard to get trust from teammates and coaches in the viability of my getting better. I started learning a lot by myself from youtube and by using a robot. Now, my main weakness is to read the spin of the opponent, so I sold the robot and am trying to keep up with practic partners. Not only that, but its such a struggle with tendons becoming inflamed, so I have to do a lot of strength training and injury prevention training and I cant play more than three times per week or else my body just wont be able to keep up. The first two years was fine and I had a lot of progression during this time, but now things have sort of flattened out. I guess I have to pay for a lot of lessions and multiball sessions onward. Thanks for uploading video about table tennis progress for adults! Edit: if anyone want to give me some advice, I uploaded a tournament match from today. warning: the level is quite low, haha!

I have so many thoughts on this! First of all, keep going, there is always a way. You can even build up a weaker player to be a perfect training partner for you. It doesn´t matter if the others don´t respect you, once they see you get better and better they will change their mind anyway. But you may also consider to change clubs. Try mobility/yoga, it´s a gamechanger, i do it every day and train 5-7 times a week at 45.

@@limittless. Thanks so much for feedback. I am an old runner so my body is very tight. If you want, you can have a look at the video called "19 09 23 table tennis mobility routine" on my channel and see what you think about it ;)

The body quickly adapts to new stimuli. If you don't go all the way in 1/2 days a week, you can build it up and slowly insert a 4th day where you initially only do soft stuff like practising serving, then serve and receiving, then serve receive and easy points etc. 🤞🏻

cheap robots suck coz their spin is not realistic and u can only warm up with them a lil but good robots are a great way of training at home in addition to normal training in the club i train every day with my robo pong 3050xl and while it not solves all weaknesses i got so much safer in all normal kind of shots, since i train topspinning different amounts of backspin fh/bh and follow up topspins as well as serve/recieve it may be expensive to get but over the years its way cheaper than paying for multiball and the likes, im playing 4 leagues higher now than 2y ago

I feel when I try to return to middle of the table as you mentioned, the opponent can often hit or "fast block" the ball down to my wide FH (if they serve to my BH) which usually puts me at a disadvantage and they move me around. Do you have any tips to get around these types of players (besides more practice)?
@limittless.
@limittless. Ай бұрын
The tip to play in the middle was mainly if you struggle to play the serve on the table in general. Lets say you don’t have a lot of problem with the serve you can attack into the corners. If you struggle to receive the serve and you have to play to middle, try to change the rhythm of your stroke. On a slow paced ball with a lot of spin it is hard to play fast; also you have more time to recover and prepare for a ball to your deep fh

I have also reached a point where I cannot train with coaches anymore and after 2 years have flattened out around 2000 usatt rating. How could I still improve with practice partners that are not as strong as me?
@limittless.
@limittless. Ай бұрын
It is very important to understand that you can always take something out of a practice even with worse partners only. For example: A weaker is probably slower than you and cannot produce enough quality to put you under pressure. This means you will have a lot of time and possibilities to just focus on your strokes and game and gain a higher quality like this. The problem with the coach is rather difficult. I would suggest you to watch as much table tennis content as possible, for example practices of pro players or videos about technique. Of course our content will also help you in this matter😉

You obviously know what you’re talking about, but I think you could demonstrate more, and keep the lecture short and concise.

The video is very boring you could do a short people like fast learning if u wanna have more views

You are right with that people want to see short content as they see it everyday for hours on instagram and tiktok and forget after just one minute what they learned You can never put the same amount of information in a short of 15-30 seconds as in a video of 8 minutes. As a table tennis player you have to go through „boring“ times like for example playing everyday footwork exercises for 30 minutes in order to improve😉
