Never has a run been critized so much for excessive pausing, but his RTA is still faster than the old WR. That's crazy to think about.

@@xaxcord2739 Yes it does. You can pause for as much and as long as you want. They should count real time instead of game time, because you are still using effort while pausing (thinking, planing, etc.)

@@jadenchen5517 Did you read what I said? You need good luck and grinding. Otherwise he would have gotten sub10 months ago. FFS. It goes without saying you need a lot of free time to do this. There's tons of more talented players (those who don't need to pause to have a great time), btw.

I feel the same as you with regard to pause strats. The in-game timer is used so slow loading screens don't make your time longer, making people with very expensive computers have an edge. Definitely nothing against the runners who use pause strats right now though, it'd be dumb not to use it if it benefits you.

I personally like it, adds another technical layer to it.. There's a lot more manipulations in these speedruns that seems more "cheaty"

Re: coords in his chat, there was like 2 ppl there at the time and nobody said the coords. If pauses do get timed, i hope that one doesn’t get timed against him since a lot of other top runners would not have had to pause there due to chat members telling them coords

the only big timeloss in the run is the iron dropping in the cave, this probably is impossible

most of the timesaves couriway does is blinding into/closer to the stronghold, but that doesn't really apply here so if couriway does rerun it he'll need to reset for god perch or god blaze rates and it'll probably only be like sub 8 or so

And imagine this run could've been even faster if the iron didn't fall in the cave, if he didn't pearl into the lava after the bastion, some minor crafting mistakes etc. This could've been around 9:20, which is INSANE. Even 9:36 is so hard to beat, I don't think anyone is going to beat this soon.

I think with all the strats we see now, we reached the peak of 1.14.1. Now it's just getting the right seed and executing it perfectly and Couri is just not very lucky lately.

@@wollythewolf3995 this is very late, but using fossil structures in the nether at 0,0 chunk can help locate the stronghold. There’s also certain spawns at 0,0 in overworld that do the same. Definitely very technical though so recommend watching a video that explains more if you haven’t already

No pauses at all is unfair because the people with faster hardware will do better because their chunks will load. Maybe more like limited pause

@@eandis99 bc it's 2021 and really good PCs are pretty cheap and if you're going for wrs, you're most likely doing this at least part time and you'd probably be serious about it and invest in an even better PC that would be even more overkill for this Pixel game

I like how speedrunning went from beating a block game to plotting divine blinds on an xyz chart. Minecraft speedrunning has now become mathematical dilemma. And those r the biggest words I am capable of using
