This video shows you how to fix the tank ring on your motorcycle:
Included in the delivery are the tank ring made fibreglass reinforced plastic, the mounting ring and all necessary screws. First remove the original screws from the mounting points on the tank cap ring. Place the spacers in the holes of the original screws. The prevent the tank from scratches by lifting the tank ring. Now place the mounting ring and fix it with the 2 screws. Please choose the screw with the appropriate length for your bike. Then put the tank ring on the mounting ring.
Place the allen screws in the front holes. The two sleeve nuts fit into the holes in the tank ring.Tighten all screws and take care of the torque of 2 Newtonmeter indicated fort he allen screws and the sleeve nuts.
After installing the tank ring, make sure that the gas cap can be opened and closed without restrictions. Now you can place your PRO tank bag on your tank ring.

Ein cooles System. Hab jetzt erstmal den Micro als Tankrucksack. Die kleines Schrauben für den Plastering selbst konnt ich nun nicht mit 2 NM anziehen, mein Schlüssel geht nur bis 2,5 NM. Hab nach Gefühl angezogen, und mit Loctite gesichert, das sollte passen. Ist jetzt schon das zweite System nach meiner 125er. Zuerst aber nur mit dem Evo System.

Heute verbaut. Sehr einfach. Nutze auch den Pro Daypack. Kommende Woche kommt auch mein Navihalter für meine 1000er Versys ;)

The video shows that screws are installed without liquid threadlocker, however the manual suggest using it. Do I have to use threadlocker when installing this tank ting?

Already mounted on a Kawasaki Z900 - Was really easy. Sometimes you have to remove the tank cover/lock and replace the cover, like in my case

Hi Christof, glad you like the system :) You´re absolutely right - in some cases the mounting includes an extra step. The video shows the most common way of mounting. Ride safe!

Wich tankbags are suitable for the Husqvarna 901 ? I.c.w. the SW-Motech lockingring for the Norden 901 ? For a very long trip i need a lot of space in a tankbag. Also the capability to hold a 7.8 color e-book reader. The E-Book reader will be used for the larger over-view of maps. From what i can see i have the idea that the SW-Motech tankring is quite a bit to the rear of the tank. I allready own a EVO GS tankbag. But i think that it will not fit on the Norden. So i am very curious wich (newer) tankbags are suitable. It may not interfere with a little bit offroad riding. I want to order the tankring, the tankbag and the map addon in one order. But it is a bit of a guess wich tankbag will fit and wich not.

I have two tankbags with EVO system. Is there any way these can go on the new system as I have my eyes on a new smaller tankbag as it does not seem like the EVO is avaiable anymore?

Hey @karstenlund8956, glad you chose our tank bags before. Unfortunately, the EVO tank bags don't fit to the PRO tank ring, because the system improved. I have a 2016 KTM 1290 super adventure. Right now I am using the givi tanklock system. When I need to remove the fuel tank, I also need to remove the tanklock system because there is a plastic tank cover. Your system looks much smaller in size, can I remove the plastic tank cover without removing your mount?

Hi Dimos, which tank cover do you mean exactly? Our tank ring is smaller, that is correct. It is screwed directly onto the tank filler neck, which in turn is screwed onto the tank. Here you will find our instructions: sw-motech.com/cosmoshop/default/artikelpdf/trt_00_787_30600_b.pdf

@@SW-MOTECH the 1290 has a plastic cover that goes over the fuel tank. In order to remove the tank, I need to remove this cover first, which means I need to remove the givi tanklock ring every time. Looks like your ring is small enough so I won't have to take it off every time

Hallo SpLasH8691, leider variieren die Längen der Schrauben auch Herstellerintern. Bitte vergleiche die Schrauben, welche du herausschraubst, mit denen von uns mitgelieferten. Wähle dann die Schraube welche maximal um die Höhe des Blechringes länger ist als die Originale. //AS

Heute verbauen wollen ... Auf meiner KTM 890 ADV R ist es aber leider so, daß ich den Tankring wegen der Öffnungsrichtung des Tankdeckels verkehrtherum einbauen mußte - also offene Seite nach vorne. So aber passt der Tankrucksack nicht mehr, was mich aufgrund der asymetrischen Geometrie des Tankringes auch nicht wundet. Was tun ?

You have to mount the tankring other way around like you say, but also the part under the tankbag. turn that around and then the red cord should be where your seat is. That's the only way

Hi mir ist ein Missgeschick passiert ich hab die schwarzen Hülsen falsch rum reingemacht die sind auch dann bündig mit dem Tankring. Ich krieg die jetzt nicht mehr raus weil das Magnet so stark ist. Hebt es auch so oder wie kann die schwarzen Hülsen da wieder rausbekommen?

Habe gerade auch den Pro City montiert. War ziemlich fummelig da die verschiedenen Schrauben unterschiedliche Werkzeuge brauchen. Aber ist schon ein geiles Produkt.

Hallo Thomas, danke für das ehrliche Feedback. Die Schrauben sind durch die möglichst dezente Optik natürlich recht klein und filigran und je nach Modell unterschiedlich, absolut richtig. Dadurch kann, wie du sagst, ein Werkzeugwechsel notwendig sein. Wir hoffen, du hast den Anbau trotzdem gut hinbekommen und hast mit der Benutzung jetzt den spaßigeren Part vor dir 😉

tja so einfach geht das natürlich schonmal gar nicht. Bei meiner Maschine sind da nämlich Blenderschrauben wo der Tankring festgeschraubt werden soll. Also hab ich da auch gar kein Gewinde. Für den Laien ist das nicht zu bewerkstelligen. Mal sehn obs meine Werkstatt hinbekommt. Kann ich schön nochmal Kohle ausgeben. Würde ich nichtmehr kaufen!

I bought the micro pro for my triumph tiger. I am disappointed that I can't keep my electronic devices and cards (inside wallet) within the main compartment. The tank bags are mainly for that purpose. Really bad design if this is the case. Can you think of other things a biker would keep in the micro size?! Cmon! Or please call this out or havethe dealer mention this to customers. I got to know when opening the installation guide. Really?!?

Hi khizer khan, we´ve intensively tested the products regarding their magnets´ influence on technical devices or credit cards and can assure you that it is safe to store them in the main compartment. The disclaimer in the mounting instruction is a precaution. Just to be extra sure, you can store them in the lid compartment if possible but it is safe to use the main compartment.

I have another query.. What's the part number for the tank ring for 2019 Triumph Tiger 800? What I bought says MV Augusta/Triumph. And the ring slightly touches the paint work around the tank cap in the corners. Maybe it's the wrong tank ring for tiger 800 2019?

The tank ring for the Tiger 800 models ´19 is TRT.00.787.16000/B. It states in the mounting instruction that there may be contact with the paint. This is why there are protection staps included. You can have a look right here: sw-motech.com/cosmoshop/default/artikelpdf/trt_00_787_16000_b.pdf

Just received my PRO DAYPACK, only to find out it's the MAGNETIC one.. Worst naming in the history of marketing. If it's PRO, it's for the PRO tank rings. Don't do an exactly named bag with a different system.. Yes, frustrated to have to return item, wait for refund, order again, wait for another delivery, and another weekend ride without a tank bag.
