I used a piece of 12-gauge speaker wire instead of ordering this mod. Add grease to it, slide it in the existing spring (I needed to cut a tiny bit off to get it to align properly) and there you go!

I just added 2 extra springs from a pen and it works just fine. You could also just make the hole for the spring more shallow so the spring is more compressed.

Just put a 5" weighted shifter and now it feels super floppy lol, definitely doing this mod this weekend , thanks for the video, it's really gonna help me elimate some trial and error

I got a stiffer shift by stuffing a small amount of paper towel into the hole the spring goes into.

I made a similar "mod" by taking the inside spring and the ball and put it together inside a heat tube. It holds them together while assemble and it's a lot quieter now. It's not this strong, but much quieter and I can shift during the night without waking up my wife :)

Does it help with the neutral position resistance? The main trouble I have with my shifter is accidentally going into 1-2 or 5-6 when trying to go into 3-4. I feel like there not enough centering force to feel it when it centered between 3 and 4.

No, it doesn't increase the lateral spring tension.

Gotta say I like the simplicity of this mod. Why of why didn't logitech just make this shifter with a beefier spring in the first place???? Maybe a silly question. Is there any chance that the extra pressure from the spring would wear on the housing/structure ?

I think it's pretty obvious. The wheel comes as a kit that needs to appeal to the most widest customer base. Means it needs to be weak enough for children to practically operate

@@xpectz that was the last I heard until I contacted them about non-delivery, in which they made excuses and told me to wait a little longer. I'm calling bs on this, because there was no reason to ship the item by mail, without a tracking number. I waited about 4 weeks longer, past the original 7 week time frame I was given, and then I got PayPal involved before the refund period ended.

This is an alternative that ships worldwide, and should give even stronger resistance than this. I have spoken to them about reviewing it in the future, but not sure if and when that will happen. Silicone grease the bearing holes, pins, and side plate holes that the pins grab, before reassemble.

Should also mention, that the seller is still falsely using OUR product photos in their description and hasn't communicated with us, regarding the copyright infringement. People should be vary, when purchasing from someone who falsely advertises their products, with someone elses pictures and the product greatly under-performs, to what was promised. Sounds like a scammer trying to make money off our product.

I was going to inquire with you guys if this was the same product because of these pictures. Your comment here and this video review and saved me buying this knock off and just ordered your product. Works out to be about £10 for the UK which is cheaper then the knock off if anyone still thinking about it.
