LSV should be a full time shout caster. all of the questions the other announcers ask him are priceless knowledge. LSV is an amazon shout caster and actually teaches the viewers the thought process.

I'd like to think that the Vesuva and Slayer's Stronghold on top of Cohen's library at the very end was a turning point for Splinter Twin's ban the next Pro Tour. Complete conjecture, but it's a fun-to-think-about butterfly effect. Cohen was on his heels, but stole the win (mind you, in the best game of Magic I have ever seen on coverage... Well deserved Justin, congrats two years later still 😛) w those two cards. Which ensured a Twin v Bloom Pro Tour Final, which is almost a free win for Twin. A Twin v Abzan matchup would've been much more contested. Anyway, Twin's victory was its last at a major event before its banning, and WotC cited Twin's success at Pro Tours as reason for its ban. BUTTERFLY EFFECT! Curious how it would've all went if those particular cards weren't there at that particular time 🤔😉😁😬

While I'm not going to disagree with you on how Abzan has so many good cards, I will say that some of my Favourite matches to play and watch have been against Abzan.

Error by Jesse at 1:14:00. Play the midscensor and not tasigur's ability. The next turn attack with all and decay on an insect ( animate land, rhino, 2x midscensor, tasigur) = GG. Beautiful game

Justin had a ghost quarter for the man land. Not sure if everything else would have had it but he couldn't rely on a manland

but the man land wasn't necessary to win. Rhino has trample and he has a decay (to do on the token that block tasigur's attack). The other two tokens have to block the 2x midscensors.
@StevenHickson
@StevenHickson 9 жыл бұрын
Paolo Baroni If he abrupt decays the token before combat, Justin blocks both mindcensors with the remaining two insects, tasigur with the plant, and ghost quarters the man lands. Justin takes 4, surviving and going to 2 where he then swings for game. If he abrupt decays before damage to save his Tasigur, Justin can block both mindcensors with two insects, tasigur with one the man land or insect, and siege rhino with the man or insect, then use ghost quarter on the man land. Either way, he takes 3-4 damage, surviving and then swinging for game (abrupt decay would cause the damage to fog as Tasigur doesn't have trample).

Isn't it highly relevant towards the end that giving a deathtouch bee double strike would stop trample damage from a Siege Rhino? Or is that not correct? I didn't hear the commentators mention it so maybe I'm getting that interaction wrong.
@devilboy561
@devilboy561 9 жыл бұрын
thats correct first strike damage would kill rhino before it can damage justin :)
@Stericify
@Stericify 9 жыл бұрын
That is correct, but I don't know how relevant that interaction is because it gets blown out by removal on the bee, which there was plenty of.
@vanessah314
@vanessah314 9 жыл бұрын
The catch was that Jesse should have passed priority in that combat and let Justin activate to give a token double strike, and abrupt decay the token in response. If he goes that route,, his Rhino still tramples for 4, and his mindsensor trades with a token. The way it played out, Jesse did the abrupt decay first, making it so that the token blocking the mindsensor lived instead of trading with it.
@devilboy561
@devilboy561 9 жыл бұрын
well isnt it cause justin knew he had decay so it didnt really matter, if jesse had passed priority justin woulda passed back n they woulda went to damage.

Gabriel S I am french and I have no commentary in my language for the Pro Tour. I take this as an opportunity to improve my english, which is a language everybody should understand. So instead of writing "Where is the french video?" in french in the comment, I try to learn stuff. I managed to get pretty fluent just by reading books and watching KZfaq videos, and I am always surprised when I see people not trying to do that as well. Also the dude did say spanish was the second language in the world, which is really not true, and even if it was it is not an excuse not to learn english. I get my comment was a bit rough though, so sorry for that.

YOU DONT INQUISITION FIRST BECAUSE ITS MORE RESTRICTED...YOU THOUGHTSEIZE FIRST TO SEE IF YOU CAN EVEN GET ANYTHING WITH INQUISITION...IF YOU THOUGHTSEIZE FIRST ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS NOT TAKE A TARGET THAT COSTS 3 OR LESS...JUST SAYING. IF YOU INQUISITION FIRST YOU RISK BLANKING.

Not necessarily in this match up, You Koz first as it hits all the enablers of the deck...Amulet, Summer Bloom and Asuza...
@MrDavidmauck
@MrDavidmauck 9 жыл бұрын
so does TS haha inquisition is more conditional. if you koz first and he has a bunch of 4cc and up you wiff. if you TS first, just pick something and leave a koz target in his hand. most likely it doesnt matter cause there will most likely be targets for both, but if you talk about whats more likely, you are more likely to wiff with koz than TS.

David Mauck First of all: Your capslock seems to be jammed, you should look into that. Secondly: Depending on the match-up, you *do* actually Inquisition first quite often, especially if you don't cast both discard spells (Inqui + TS) on the same turn. Inqui can "only" hit "smaller targets", but those spells are the once that tend to come out earlier and need to be prevented earlier. Inqui is also almost guaranteed to hit vs a full hand of cards, so it is a *very* safe first turn play in most match-ups, I would usually cast Inqui turn 1 and TS turn 2 if I had both in my opening hand.
@MrDavidmauck

Nr4747 i didn't know we were talking about theories. i thought we were talking about this video. it wasnt turn one...so that point is invalid. the deck he is playing plays hive minds and titans and plenty of things inquisition cannot hit. also the deck is going to win in one turn, so the 2 life from TS does not matter. is he inquisitions first he is praying to hit an amulet. if you are going to play both the same turn or think you are going to then you lead with TS for sure. maybe against like affinity where inquisition will hit every card its fin. but in amulet bloom its not guaranteed. here is my proof: you stated that, "Inqui is also ALMOST guaranteed to hit vs a full hand of cards, so it is a very safe first turn play in most match-ups, I would usually cast Inqui turn 1 and TS turn 2 if I had both in my opening hand." TS is not an ALMOST card. it hits anything but land. so TS first, take anything, then if you need to follow up with inquisition, otherwise you wasted a card.
@MrDavidmauck
@MrDavidmauck 9 жыл бұрын
Nr4747 perfect example! go to 5:43. in justins hand is two titans and 4 lands. had jesse had a TS and inquisition and played by you're theory, you would have whiffed. yes, ALMOST guaranteed to hit with inquisition every time but not 100%. thats my point. you may disagree, but not everyone agrees with the truth.
